A beautiful day today with a top of 18 degrees C.

Today I made it on time to my 11 am appointment APM. I think my consultant was annoyed that I lodged a complaint about her but it was not just her I lodged complaints about APM even before she was my consultant.

After my appointment I had to get more change for laundry and another small grocery shop.

For a snack I purchased a can of yuzu and pineapple sparkling water with no sugar from Coles Local  and some octapus balls from Woolworths Metro.

Home for a nap and laundry again - heaps of it but again am having such a hard time drying my 2 loads of laundry. It took so long that my plans to see some more of VIVID tonight has been cancelled as it is almost 8 pm and my laundry is still drying.

Earlier for dinner I ate my left over brocolli and oven roasted salmon.

I still have a few more days to see the rest of VIVID which ends on 17th June 2023.

A top of 19 degrees C os forecasted for today.

Today I ventured out to Vivid as it is the 2nd last night.

after taking my rubbish out I took a bus to Wynysrd and walked from Wynyard Station to Barangaroo and towards Circular Quay. I didn't quite see everything so I will have to try and see it tomorrow night.

It was almost 10 pm by the time I reached Wynyard Station where I stopped off at MacDonalds for a small fries no salt as I needed change for laundry and all supermarkets were closed so I didn't get a chance to get some bottles of water and juice.

I was lucky I made it in time for the next bus home from St Leonard's Station. There were 10 people waiting for the bus which do not come very often . It was past 10.30 pm by the time I arrived home and I just managed to catch the second half of  the encore episode of today's The Cook Up.

It's past midnight and I am still awake catching up on my blog. I still need to upload all my photos and videos onto my YouTube channel. This will take a while as I ran out of battery and hopefully my backup phone was charged so I could continue taking photos and videos. The most annoying thing is it is taking forever to upload a single video onto my YouTube channel and some are even disappearing once loaded.

Another nice day today with a mostly sunny day topping 19 degrees C.

Today I had to venture out as I needed groceries and toiletries.

Before I get these I purchased a ticket to attend the final day of the Good Foid & Wine Show. It took me longer then expected to get there as the Harbour Bridge was closed until 10.30 am to traffic ( including buses) due to the FIFA World Cup parade over the Harbour Bridge.( only 25 days left! )

What an exhausting day! I spent about $300 today on groceries at the Good Food & Wine Store Show - my biggest spend ever at any food & wine show or event. I was extra organised this year.  I had a list of stalls I wanted to visit and a list of items I planned to purchase from each stall but even arriving at 11 am an hour after the show opened today, stock had already sold out or there was a limit on how many of an item you could purchase from some stalls. So this is what I purchased for $300 excluding any freebies or sampling. ( I did a lot less sampling this year then purchasing)

1. 2 x 1 L bottles of NZ cherry juice & a 2L goonbag in a carton of NZ blueberry juice from Eden it cost me $70. The 2 boys that run the stall at every food and wine show were there and recognized me. I just love their cherry juice but this time round am trying their blueberry juice in a goon bag. Unsure if they knew what a goon bag was - it's an Australian term only a alcoholic during the circa 1990s would know.

2. A huge loaf of seeded sourdough bread from  Maison Cafe Bakery  (not on my Good Food & Wine Show List but on my grocery list -  I spotted it when I went to purchase a lamb pie from them as my first lunch . Not recommended - their lamb pie was pretty ordinary as the pastry wasn't the best, the service was far too slow - there was a long queue just for a pie which didn't need any preparation to order,   cooking or reheating  and they weren't  that good at customer service skills, they were expensive for what you received. For $12.50 a loaf of bread - it was ok but it certainly not soughdough. The $8 pie I was hungry and if I had found El's fried chicken first i would have skipped the pie.

3. Provadorium  - have I spelt it correctly? A box of mazipan mixed flavoured chocolates  - on my list and a favourite! $20. I could not stop at one sample - I had 3 before purchasing!

4. Pure Mist Tasmainian water - out of large sparking bottles of water and only cans left so had to get 2 x 1 L still water from from GTG Living water which is Albanian water my second choice at $4 a bottle pricey but it tasted very pure when I sampled it. After spending $8 I was tempted to purchase the small bottles of favoured and plain sparkling water but decided not to - too pricey.

5. Cheese - there was not much left by the time I arrived at the Cheese Corner. Did not even sample any cheeses at all just purchased 2 small waxed round of onion and cumin seed cheese from Little Creek Cheeses ( I have purchased from them before ) .Done Another $30 or so spent.

4. Aquna Murray River cod - I wanted 2 packets as it is really difficult to find at Woolworths however even arriving and purchasing first thing upon arrival and picking up at the end of the day a limit of 1 pkt per person was imposed for Sunday. Oh bummer . I took what i could get but it was $13 same price as purchasing at Woolworths .  I made sure I ate as many samples of it throughout the day as I could! Coated in rice flour why does it never taste as good as theirs when I make it at home?

5. Butter - on my list but I thought I had missed out as I thought the Copper Tree Farms  stall was in the Cheese Corner but when I found the stall they advised me that in previous years they were but this year decided to be away from the cheeses. I purchased a block of unsalted culture butter after sampling the salted one. I didn't like the salted butter . At $6 a block it will go very well on my sourdough for breakfast tomorrow! Great customer service - they went out of their way to make me up an unsalted  sample on a piece of bread as they had run out.

6. The Loose Goose - I have been purchasing their duck salami for years from different food and wine markets . This year they had a new citrus  duck salami  $20 which I sampled and purchased -  not in that order though. I could not taste the citrus and I usually purchase the duck with juniper berries but its fine as I am planning to cook it like a Chinese Yung Cheng ( Raw Chinese dried duck liver sausage that has to be cooked) to flavour my dishes rather then eat it as charcuterie.

7. On my general grocery list was the largest bottle of olive oil I could find.  Someone at the show must have olive oil. I thought Random Harvest would have but they only had flavoured bottles when I asked them . Towards tge end if my day I saw a stall at the south Australia stand and there were huge 750 ml bottles of mild classic and robust olive oil. Australian olive oil is my favourite so $20 later I have my 750 ml bottle of classic olive oil from Pendleton Estate .

8. An Alfajores (Argentinian Dulce de Leche Cookies) $4 for a snack after samplintheir sweet potato flavoured jellies.

9. El's Fried Chicken on my list as my lunch I walked around and could  not find it but after asking where it was I found it at the end ofthe hall in a corner with a huge line. I ordered a classic burger without chips for $21. It was a long wait as I was number 49! Finally got my burger which was ok but too much mayo. The bun was cold but the chicken was hot and pretty good - needed hot sauce though! I could not finish it so it was breakfast the next morning  - dam that lamb pie I had previously.

10. Finally add the online entry fee plus booking fee to the Good Food & Wine Show which was $36 & don't forget return public transport to/show approx $15.

It all adds up! I have probably forgottensome things but I think it is pretty comprehensive from memory.

At 12.45 pm I even managed to watch a cooking demonstration at the Harris Scarf Theatre ( refer my videos uploaded onto my YouTube Channel of Miguel - I just lined up really early with everyone else not knowing who I was going to watch cook. The story was it was suppose to be Justine Schofield but a swap had been made at the last minute between Miguel and Justine  - you don't have time to watch more then 1 cooking demo so I just got this over with so I can shop eat and sample the rest of the day ) and have a lamb pie ( Maison Cafe Bakery) $8 and a fried chicken burger ( El's Fried Chicken) $21  for my 2 separate lunches .

I left at just after 4.30 pm as the show closes on it's last day today at 5 pm. Always stay till nearby the end as stalls give out freebies.

Let's see today I managed to get the following freebies

1. a can of Lyre non alcoholic flavoured soda ( malt & coke)

2. a packet of oat crackers ( walnut oat)

3. a packet of  heart shaped mazipan chocolates (4 pkt)

4  a carton of Kara coconut milk

5. 5 different whole montague  apples

6. a single Wittikers coconut  chocolate

7. a Gruyere cheese mini stuffed plush cow ( which I ended up giving away to a little boy on the tram so happy to receive it from me and playing with it imnediately)

8. a small  heart shaped tin of Australian almonds

9. do much sampling from Sodasmith ( lemon myrtle tonic - I hate tonic water but this was actually drinkable asthe lemon myrtle hid the tonic flavour & their other flavour fingelime a favourite over the lemon myrtle tonic ) , Marzipan Herzen which was on my list but i had no idea how good these flavoured marzipan chocolates were until I tried 3 different ones , Godiva Chocolates now i thought these were made in the US but nothe fancy individualky wrapped double chocolate one I sampled was made in Turkey?, cultured butter - move over Pepe Sayer my usual brand Copper Tree Farms has a lot more variety and was absolutely delicious, Modi apples and Montague apples ( Modi stall always runs out of apples before Montague - both apples delicious but i think Modi is my favourite!) I also managed to sample quite a lot of fish other non alcoholic beverages and my favourite charcuterie Goose on the Loose duck kangaroo venison salami ( I don't usually Ä“at cured meats but occassionally will eat the duck salami in this range as i believe these don't contain nitrates as  additives).

Sunday at the show is usually quieter but this year it was hell! Apparently yesterday was the busiest and I am so glad I didn't go as there was quite a lot of intoxication going on.

The stall holders from feedback I heard were shocked at how busy the show actually was especially on the last day Sunday which traditionally is quieter ( which is why I attend on a Sunday most of the time) but people this year were acting as if there was no inflation, no sky high interest rates, no sky high petrol & energy costs and no sky high every other cost of living. They acted as if there was no mortgage stress or the threat of a recession. Life was just great at the Good Food & Wine Show this year and I have to admit I am glad I decided to give Melbourne's show a miss this year as Sydney's show at the ICC was pretty damn good this year!

Will she be able to keep her job in a senior role at Optus  nowthat she has been found to be corrupt? Interesting to know that the report's site crashed this morning over the announcement. Last Day Of The Financial Year

A beautiful day this morning with a top of 18 degrees C.

I could not venture out at al ltoday. most of my day was trying to complete issues before the end of the financial year.

Half of my day was spent changing private health insurance funds as premiums for my existing fund increased about $20 a month in June but I paid in advance so missed the increase for the month. With the rising cost of living I too am searching around for better deals and by swaping from Ahm to Bupa I managed to keeping paying about the same monthly premium as I did before Ahm's increase. There were other reasons I swapped from Ahm and that was their major cyber security issue they had. Also Bupa earns me Everyday rewards points and has other discounts and offers.

The other half of my day was takenup on the phone dealing with my problems with Telstra ongoing from over a year ago. After they cancelled my  order of my phone which took me ages to get a refund for, I now had to deal with my  ill being overcharged for an entire year where I was charged $10 every month for roaming I asked to be cancelled that was never done and charged an extra $3  for a change in my casual phone plan that was not due. Then i had to deal with not being able to access my telstra reward plus account. I had 129 000 points yet I could not redeem any of these points after my last attempt to redeem them and  my order being cancelled. After speaking to technical support I managed to redeem the majority of my points for a fitbit versa 4. Let's see what happens to my order this time! Ifitis lost again and I get joints back I will probably have enough points by then to redeem them for a Samsung watch or Fitbit versa 5! This time i i had the order to be delivered to a Telstra store not to my PO box or residential address.

So both of these took up most of my day with notmuch time to do much else.
