Refer previous week's blog. New Shift added to Kronos by customer service manager Myer 8 am - 5 pm on November 11th 2020. Not service. Entire shift cancelled by her same day.
Day off as per Kronos prior to 11th November 2020.
Today I plan to travel back to my previous employer to finally return the key ( I didn't put it in the post because my mail always goes missing or returned to my PO Box refer previous blog during COVID when a letter I sent was returned to my PO Box address instead of going to it's destination for no reason) and drop off the Christmas cards I had written in advance for this Christmas prior to COVID back in March. I had no idea that I would not be with my previous employer this Christmas. This is how organised I used to be before COVID & joining Myer, I could plan my entire year in advance almost. My Christmas cards were all written up 11 months in advance, my Christmas tree is up by September each year, my fruit mixture for my Christmas pudding is soaking by July/August, my 6 monthly holidays have all been booked by June ( for the Australian ski season) and September ( for my annual trip to Canada anytime between Dec & Jan) each year and I would be attending every annual event I possibly can in between my 3 fixed work days. COVID and working at Myer sure changed the whole way I organised and planned this year and the year ahead. Now I can only plan 1 or 2 weeks ahead at a time. I also don't eat or exercise as well as I used to because I can no longer plan a regular routine. I just fit everything in as best as I can including watching YouTube channels and blogging. So it's now been 7 - 8 months since I last had contact with my previous employer. I won't be staying very long - just a quick trip out to St Ives then back to whatever else I have to do today. It is getting busier towards Christmas therefore this could be my last opportunity to try and get essential things done before Christmas.
So which event has also been cancelled for 2020 and postponed to 2021? The annual Cake Bake & Sweet Show both in Melbourne ( Nov 2020) and Sydney (Dec 2020) :(
I have written to the organisers who finally responded to my 2nd email for my ticket to be transferred to attend next years show ( which they insist they sent emails out to everyone who had purchased a ticket in advance an option for a transfer or refund and to check my junk mail - I did a search of my emails and there was no sign of an email from them so I forwarded the original emailed of my ticket to them from September for them to process awaiting their response) which is now rescheduled for 22 - 24th October 2021 for Sydney's show out at the Showground Olympic Park and 9 - 11th July 2021 for the Melbourne Show at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Today is a scorching hot day forcast to reach 33 degrees Celsius but short lived forecasted to drop back down to early 20s tomorrow. I'm sweaty and hot so am cooling down before I enter the ice rink for a skate ( as they may be still doing temperature checks). Yep upon arrival still need to scan the QR code or sign in before a temperature check. By the way I leave my mask on when I skate - I wear my mask everywhere as this is a very busy shopping centre.
Well I didn't quite make it out to my previous employer today as it was just so hot. The temperature must have been in the mid 30s degree celcius with extremely high humidity.
The plan was to go for an ice skate at the cheapskate session from 11.30 am - 1 pm then go out to my previous employer however it was just too hot outside so I stayed inside Macquarie Shopping Centre after recycling my 5 plastic bottles at the automatic return and earn machines ( which this time got it correct & didn't cheat me of 20 cents!)
I had a lot of general grocery shopping to do and still have to get back home to finish washing and drying my laundry ( I should really hang my wet clothes outside to dry but I don't feel safe leaving my clothes on the line outside) which I will put in the dryer for an hour. I still have my whites to wash and dry before preparing my lunch for work tomorrow.
Maybe Friday my next day off will be a cooler day to go.
OK so I was a bit out - it was actually almost 41 degrees Celsius today in Sydney's West!
Home on the Metro and bus , washed my whites, dried my blacks then dried my whites ( which did not dry very well). It is still stinking hot at 26 degrees right up until around midnight but it still felt as if it was above 30 degrees Celsius! Then it cooled down in the early hours of the morning. Turning on the ceiling fan did not help.
I watched the news and Have You Been Paying Attention ( 2nd last episode for the year) whilst preparing my lunch for work tomorrow.
Sleep around 10 pm - or tried to anyway as it was so hot and humid.
Tuesday 17th November 2020
Myer 9.30 am - 5.30 pm. Kronos checked 8th November 20 new shift added. Kronos checked again on 11th, 12th & 15th November 2020 no change
Up by 5 am and leaving by 7.30 am to get to work in time as I need to enter via the store's staff entrance exit and probably collect the Ipads. There is usually a team huddle about 15 minutes before the store opens at 9.30 am as well.
Very busy today. Loads of sales and the daily special today was spend $9.95 on MW products and choose a free card from the spindle - there is an expiry date however it is until stock lasts. ( yep this is a real offer from Myer & it just started yesterday).
VIP night is on after 6 pm tonight however it is only available at selected stores for tonight only and not offered at the Warringah store tonight. I believe there is 40% off on selected items.
No Myer One sign up, no orders and I did not ask many customers for rounding up of purchases to donate to charity as there was just no time.
The number of times I had to direct people to The Hub who wanted to Click & Collect as well as other services was countless today and each and every time I advised the customer that The Hub is now located downstairs behind the Seafolly Swimwear and to use the escalators then look for the Seafolly Swimwear even to the extent of pointing out and escorting customers downstairs to The Hub even promoting some of The Hub's services offered to customers such as the gift wrapping service for $7.95 which is a service customers sometimes ask about. Yet one customer still made a comment on their customer feed back about being told to go to the incorrect area and advised that gift wrapping was free. I never told any customer that Myer offered gift wrapping for free and certainly not in the cosmetics department. Very wierd.
I told the customer service manager all about the Truffle oil spill that happened and what a poor job the cleaners did at cleaning it up. Whilst remerchandising there was still truffle oil all over the shelves so I had to wipe it up. I make a comment to the customer service manager "You know that I'm actually allergic to truffle oil - but only if I ingest it" Trying to be funny she replies with "Well don't go licking the shelves then!" ( I don't think anyone would even think of licking anything now with COVID except heaps of ice cream - hopefully your own and not someone elses).
Today I was on my own with 2 junior casuals - one newbie and another who has been a Christmas casual at Myer previously. The newer team member had a habit of chatting to ither team memberso I tried to keep her occupied by allocating her tasks to complete. One of these tasks was to find the bag reserve and get some more tissue paper and bags. I did not intend both junior casuals to go off together to find the bag reserve but they did. The newer team member also had trouble printing customised Toblerone stickers so I had to assist her with it. I was not going to send her downstairs to pick up the stickers from the printer in the online department as she did not know where this was and after the previous gift wrapping incident at The Hub where she disappeared and didn't tell anyone where she was for ages with a customer kept waiting , I was not sending her downstairs again on her own. ( just as well as another new team member was working downstairs in Womens shoes and I know she will start chatting to her and not stop).
I must have missed a 280 bus to Chatswood as I was waiting a long time for the next bus to arrive. Funny enough the Electricals manager was on the same bus all the way to Chatswood. He has to travel much further then I do. I had said "See you later " earlier to him and another team member before taking a toilet stop. I don't know how the time to get between Chatswood and Warringah is calculated it never takes 40 minutes, most of the time it takes an hour one way. By the time we reached Chatswood A passenger on the bus not visible to the driver as he was slumped over had fallen fast asleep. Another passenger had to notify the driver to wake him up. That will be me on my 9 pm and 7 pm consecutive finishing times next week however not on a 280 and not at the end of the line as I will have no alternative except to take a B Line bus and 144 or a Manly bus and 144 - if I fall asleep I could miss my transfer point/time and end up in Wynyard or stuck in Manly!

Myer 11 15 am - 4.15 pm new shift added to Kronos 8th November 2020. Kronos checked again on 11th, 12th & 15th November 2020. No change
Last minute change of shift and duties yesterday - new shift 8 am - 1 pm stock only by request from customer service manager.
I have a little bit of time to relax before starting my shift at 8 am. I got here extra early so I don't get locked out from the staff entrance exit if I am running late. I sit in the staff room and watch the 182 years of David Jones commercial and compare it to the equivalent Myer Christmas 2020 commercial which was released a litte earlier. So what do I think of the two commercials. I have to say the David Jones commercial definitely has a clearer message and is a lot shorter to the Myer commercial. I quite like it. So what do I think of the Myer commercial - I don't get it. What is it trying to sell? It is rather long and it did take me a while to actually understand what the commercial was about. I thought it was not being able to wait until 2020 is over - wait let me watch it again. OK do I've watched it again - what's with all the costumes ? And the jingle - it's a mish mash of everything - looks more like the Myer Christmas windows coming to life then a Myer commercial. I may not shop at DJs but I do like their commercial - great glimpse of the old blue & white 1950's/1960's bus in background of a few scenes - really does take me back to the 1970's as a child. It does take you back in time.
Boy not much to write about today at work. Stock is stock - I was put on glassware so all you do when stock duties ( besides starting really early and finishing late) is go out to the dock grab a cage full of stock ( often filled so high you can't see a thing in front of you so watch out little kids otherwise you will get run over!) & so heavy you need someone to keep the damn door open for you or a guy to help you wheel the cage out) & take it out onto the floor to restock the shelves. Often the cage rolls backwards if not held onto or it gets caught around the door's combination lock. All the OH& S training team members receive at the orientation session gone down the tube. After emptying the cage and finding no more glassware on the dock you head down to the "dungeons" of Myer to empty out the reserves onto the floor. By the end of my shift I told the customer service manager that I have almost emptied out all the MW glassware from the reserve.
Although I wasn't suppose to serve but at the end of my shift there was a rather agitated customer I could waiting to be served at the Homewares counter so I asked her if needed assistance and she said she just wanted to pay for a cap so I explained to her that I was not meant to be serving today just helping out with stock and was about to finish my shift but will serve her. I think she appreciated that. So hopefully there won't be any poor customer feedback from that. At the time the the other team members were busy with other customers or issues. It's Christmas and most customers realise that they have to be patient and wait their turn and there will be queues but there are always the bunch of customers who ruin it for everyone not just other customers but for team members as well by being demanding angry pushy rude and impatient for example, not just at Christmas but all year round.
Speaking of customers, when I was restocking and tidying up the glassware I noticed 1. a customer looking at a boxed decanter that I had just remerchandised. It's the block of striking pink and black packaging on the shelves must have caught her eye. 2. I was trying to match up glasses with the brands and boxes of glasses on the shelves which is really difficult as customers like to remove and leave display glasses around and on this ocassion a couple of customers was looking at a particular set of boxed glasses and looking at the display glass next to it. I said to them not to rely on the glass next to the box being the same as I had been matching up glasses with boxes all morning and customers had been leaving them everywhere. Their reply was " Those pesky customers! Shame on them for leaving glasses in the wrong spot"
All day the fulfilment team were coming up to me asking if I knew where items were and customers sometimes need help as well. I will talk and restock at the same time or point them to where items are but did not put sales through.
So many new team members ( Christmas Casuals) were serving or restocking today. Can't keep track of them all. But nice to see them around. There is one new team member who started off in Electricals then Homewares but now works downstairs in Womenswear Shoes who keeps popping out from nowhere and saying Hi. She was in the Womens' Shoes back stock room yesterday when she popped out whilst I was looking for someone from the Online Department which was empty and she popped up again in Homewares and said "Hi" to me and also mention the new team member working in Homewares today is actually her friend another friendly team member. I do not want to be a team leader - have trained juniors previously so the team member that wants to become a team leader and asked me "Don't you want to become a team leader? My answer is no. Been there done that so she can have the team leader gig for herself.
Onto something more interesting. The team member I was doing stock with today and I were so tired. She was not asked to stay back ( probably because she has a late shift tomorrow ) but I was and had to say no as I had been working quite a bit already this week ( Tuesday on my own with 2 junior casuals - keeping one of the newer junior team members occupied with tasks so she would not go off chatting to other team members who were trying to work was challenging enough, the other junior team member was more mature and sensible and did not need any direction).
After work it was a wait for the next 280 back to Chatswood and another shopping trip to Aldi & Coles at least via Target. But the aim was to visit I the revamped Coles Supermarket to a "Coles Local" ( the smaller Coles located in Westfield) that I have read and seen so much about. So what are Coles trying to do? Are they trying to be like a local IGA? Are they trying to copy Woolworths' almost defunct Thomas Dux stores or a Woolworths Metro even? Was it just a test supermarket selling test products? Just like the Myer Christmas commercial - I just don't get it. It looks very much like a smaller version of the Marketplace IGAs I loved so much particularly the one in Whistler ( before it was converted to a Fresh Market or Market Fresh whatever it is called now) with its life sized chairlifts with dummy skiiers fully dressed in 1990s ski wear hanging from it's ceilings ( yes that's how old the IGA Marketplace was!) and painted murals on it's walls. Yes the Chatswood Local has brightly painted murals along some of its walls. I was so intrigued by this Coles supermarket I took heaps of photos from it's instore cut yourself - I mean slice your own bread loaf machine, to the frozen help yourself macaroons, mochi and mini gelato cones, to refillable eco friendly products station , to a select and weigh dog snacks station, to the new all black shopping trolleys & basket range.

Myer 9.30 am - 3 pm new shift added to Kronos 8th November 2020. Kronos checked again 11th, 12th & 15th November 2020. No change.
Last minute change of shift on Tuesday for today 8.30 am start - 2.30 pm stock only by request from customer service manager.
Another last minute change if shift by the operations and customer service manager yesterday for today. Shift change 8 am - 4 pm. Was asked the earliest I could start tomorrow and if I could stay later. I can't start any earlier then 8 am but can stay back as I have Friday off. It will be a long day but I can sleep in on Friday.
Today I am up by 4 15 am. It is almost 5 am now time to get ready to leave by 6 am.
I get to work just after 7.30 am. I was waiting outside to wait for the door to open at 7.55 am but up rocks the assistant store manager. I wasn't sure what she was wearing but it did not go with the black suit she was wearing - it was white jewellery and accessories. When I spotted her walking in the distance across the car park I did not even recognise her as that is not the type of jewellery and accessories I see her wear until she arrived at the staff entrance exit to herself in. Do I know what I am suppose to be doing today of course I do. MW MW and more MW stock.
I put my stuff in a staff locker, put my lunch in the fridge and write my blog in the staff lunch room. I do not punch in until closer to 8 am.
Today I actually received a congratulations on my 10/10 customer feed back by the store manager and I had not even read my Myer Metrics today. I was trying to find out who down in cosmetics ordered a roll of brown paper which I found at the bottom of a cage full of stock I was unloading. He even offered to forward it to the correct cosmetic counter for me.
Most of today I worked with the Maxwell Willia ms rep to restock the shelves. There was cages and cages of stuff and so much stock down in the reserves as well so I did my best most of day to get as much MW stock out as I could. The glassware reserve has now almost been emptied of MW glassware and there is very litt le MW white basics left in the hard reserve however there us still a bit of Cashmere left as well as boxed MW stock and MW dinner sets galore down in the hard reserve. There is a bit of S & Pepper but no more MW Contessa and Classic left in the hard reserve at all. There is still a bit of MW Silk Road and heaps of MV vases in the glass reserve. I was so tired I decided to take a break and pull out a random cage of Christmas food products to restock of gingerbread, Contreau Christmas cake bon bons and Walkers biscuits before having a proper lunch break.
The Electricals department manager says to me "I don't feel like dealing with customers today - Do you want to swap?" "Nope!" ( actually yes but if I'm asked to do something I'll do it because I don't want to get into trouble). Anyway I don't know much about Electricals unless he trains me up and he has his newbies to look after ( yes more newbies!)
After lunch I continued to restock and I don't think there were any more cages of MW in the dock except one very heavy cage of MW Marblesque which I pulled aside but there was no way I was going to even atrempt to push this extremely heavy and piled high cage of MW glassware out onto the floor. It must have been 2 meters tall and at least 25 kg - it was jammed packed. It it fell and collapsed on me I would be dead if not injured. I believe there was enough stock on the floor already so I will leave it for the guys to put out. I can handle crockery and vases but not that cage of Marbleque.
There were still pil es of old MW in the reserve with incorrect pricing and I had no idea how to correct them all so left it.
At around 3.30 pm the team leader and customer service managers had to go to a meeting and the other senior team member was nowhere to be found so I was asked by the team leader to stay at the counter with a new team member on her own as it was her first day at Myer ( I didn't have to stay with her long as she was about to finish her shift at 3.30 pm). So many newbies. I saw a manager taking another group of of new Christmas casua ls around on their orientation today. So many new team members.
I had to serve as there was no one at the counter in Homewares again. So put through just 1 sale. I also printed 4 personalised Toblerones for a team member's customer as she had 2 customers at the same time ( one was mine on the floor but she did not manage to catch the MW rep to help her - the MW rep was around so I got this team member to help her by going down to the reserves to find the dinner set she wanted).
By lunch time I was in the staff lunch room and the store manager walks in to get a cup of coffee or tea. I was talking to yet another team member from the Natio cosmetics concession and the subject of David Jones came up - I think we were talking about the Myer commercial and David Jones commercial. The store manager over hears our conversion and says " David Who? Who's David? That's a filthy word we don't want to hear that around here..." That's when I managed to crack his inner sense of humour. He may be a hard working serious store manager that I mentioned never seemed to smile but he seems to have a bit of a sense of humour.
There was a new team manager walking around with all the managers today and I was wondering why she was such an important new Myer team member to have a one on one orientation around Myer. I asked who she was asnd I found out that she was the new VM manager. I then asked what's hapoened to the current VM manager - he got a transfer to Chatswood and he lives closer to thast store - well so do I and I enquired about a transfer but you need to have been with Myer for a while, have to have an interview with that store manager and there has to be a position available plus other conditions. Whoever I was talking to also told me that Myer does not do transfers very well.
No more stock duties - back to service on Saturday.
I catch the next 280 bus to Chatswood as I finished at 4 pm today but was running late due to last minute serving of customers and trying to bring up one last trolley of MW white basics from reserves. I didn't quite finish so gave it to the team member on tonight to finish off when she had time as prices needed to be checked.
I arrive home at 6 pm washed my hands and my mask and it is extremely windy outside - the winds are howling. It's time to catch up on the news and anything else that needs catching up on.
Sleep early. Extremely tired. No latenight shopping for me tonight and no Chatswood Mall markets.
Friday 20th November 2020
Day off. Catch up time.
I did absolutely nothing today only clean out my pantry of food and making an inventory list including best before dates.
Checked and updated my diary. Watched YouTube and caught up on my blog.
I was so tired I slept most of today.
Prep for work tomorrow.
Saturday 21st November 2020
Myer 11.30 am - 5 pm new shift added to Kronos 8th November 2020. Checked Kronos again on 11th November 2020. No change. Checked Kronos again on 12th November 2020 change of shift finishing time - now working 11.30 am - 6 pm not 11.30 am - 5 pm. Checked Kronis again 15th November 2020 no change.
I can sleep in a little today as I don't have to enter through the staff entrance/exit and don't start until 11.30 but finish at 6 pm therefore need to catch the Manly or BLine buses and transfer.
The day did not start off well. The driver of the 144 bus I caught at 9.41 am from the closest bus stop to where I reside was a shocker. It was a very full bus with people stranding so he told passengers wating at each bus stop along the way to wait for the next 144 or 143 bus behind him - problem was there wasn't one and being a Saturday the next 144 was not due for another 15 minutes at least according to trip planner so bad luck to those like myself who have to connect ir transfer onto another scheduled bus in order to get to work or an appointment on time. After the first stop near Coles at Neutral Bay and way before the next bus stop in Neutral Bay Junction on Military Rd where the only B Line connection transfer bus stop is, a passenger presses the button to indicate the bus to stop. There is a B Line bus just in front at the stop waiting. Too late the B Line bus drives off as the 144 bus driver failed to stop at the bus stop and continues to drive on. I said to the 144 bus driver in a rather angry tone " Excuse me but you just missed the bus stop!" His response was " Did you press the stop button" My response was " It is pressed and was presses a while back". His excuse was " I can't see it" and I said "Well it's on!". I had no idea where the next bus stop was on Military Rd but it sure was a long way from the last bus stop and a very long way between the only 2 B Line bus stops along Military Rd - the next one was at Spit Junction! So I knew I was never going to catch up with the N Line bus I just missed which was still visible in front of me so had to run ( not walk ) back to the last bus stop quite a few blocks away and wait for the next B Line bus which I managed to make in time about 8 minutes away. I tried to lodge a complaint online but had so much trouble and you need to provide so much information. When incidents like no shows delays or fail to stop happen the last thing you want to look for is the drivers number and bus number you are on. I mean who memorises these? The only way you could record these would be to take photos of tgem as the numbers are not exactly 3 - digits in length! So I am going to try again and record using the trip planner info.
Next thing which made my day start off badly was I arrived at work at 11.30 a m as per Kronos and had rechecked the day before in the event my shift start and finishing times had changed yet again. It had not however sometime between yesterday and this morning my shift start time had changed from 11.30 am to 12 noon. I did not bring my lunch ( I just forgot as my shift had previously changed from 11.40 am - 5 pm to 11 30 am - 6 pm) . Now because of the change again I wasn't sure if I should have a lunch break or not. The print out did say 12 noon - 6 pm when I arrived. I am so over the constant changes in Kronos. I won't be surprised if I didn't show up to work one day. I'm over it. My hard copy diary is a total mess with all the checking and changing , adding and deleting - it's so bad I don't bother to use it to record anything else I have to attend except to attach all receipts, all my activities and appointments are now recorded on my digital diary.
When a team member and I arrived at 11.30 am on the floor to start work ( we actually had about 5 or so before we actually started) the customer service manager was so relieved to see us as it was just hectic when we arrived - it was likome "Great the backup troops have arrived!" We were set to work immediately assisting at the registers in the Homewares department - there was not a spare register and there were queues of customers and the back counter was just a mess. It was just crazy.
I had a Christmas tree on hold on the back counter that I searched for and dragged out from the dock for a customer who never returned to collect it. I rang the customer close to closing and they did not answer so I returned it to the dock. No Christmas 24 hours holds are allowed for customers only same day holds.
Sorry I just lost an entire paragraph of my blog and it was a funny custoner story too! Damn you blogger please stop crashing!!!!!!
I'll start the story again.
This was my customer of the day and I hope readers of my blog will get a giggle from it like I did. A guy comes upto the counter and has 3 Toblerone chocolate blocks he would like to have personalised. One he had already found on the shelf personalised with "Chloe" on it ( probably from a batch of test prints done). So one down, two more to go. I grab the Ipad and ask what the customer would like the other two Toblerone blocks to be personalised with. He writes the names down Steve and Cal. So I enter the name Steve into the app and press print and try to listen to the sound of the printer to check that it is in the print queue ( a little difficult to hear due to the background music constantly on play). It was taking it's time to print so I make a comment to the customer "Steve's taking a long time to come out." The customer's response was " Steve actually did take a long time to come out" Then when Steve actually came out ( of the printer) I entered the next name into the app on the Ipad and did the same thing listening for the printer queue sounds - this time it did not take as long and I said to the customer "It this for you?" it was indeed and I said "Cal did not take as long to come out ( of the printer) as Steve did." The customer responds with " No he didn't actually". Not their real names by the way.
No Myer One sign ups today, no attempts at trying to put an order through but most customers I asked to round up their purchases to donate to the local charity were more then happy to do so except for 1 customer I had.
I made a few boo boos today giving quite a few of my sales to other team members by mistake. Because there are more team members on then registers, you just jump on the first available register to put customer sales through and team members were forgetting to log off after their sales which now has a 90 second time out ratger then 60 seconds ( I think) , I was accidently putting my sales through other team members team IDs instead of mine. Also I was writing my team ID on customer holds on the back counter however new team members may not know how to put other team member sales through or bothered to enter another team member's team ID # each time before scanning or entering each item purchased by a customer.
I don't know what was hapoening with till recs today but one if my last duties of tge day was to recount the same cash till again ( for the 3 or 4th time today to balance it) before ringing up the assistant store manager to check that it now balanced. Someone ( the team member who wants to be a team leader) could not count last time she made a mistake when she co signed a cash clearance with me under my name. She claims that her brain had shut down yet the customer service manager asked her to stay an extra half an hour.
Sorry my blog is still crashing. I need to catch up when I get home or tomorrow.
The team member whose birthday it was tomorrow was not walking to the bus stop today as she was getting a lift and so was the other team member so I walked with the team member who wants to be a team leader half way to the bus stop but had to leave her as i needed a toilet stop and to wash my hands as I always do before catching the bus home. Obviously the team member who wants to be a team leader does not have any hygiene - she insisted on giving the team member whose birthday is tomorrow a big "COVID" hug after work today. Yuk. Absolutely filthy - she offered a manager some M & Ms she had been holding in her dirty hands once and she left an unwrapped chocolate egg in the back Homewares cupboard overnight without second thoughts - Yuk!
The last bus on Saturdays direct from Warringah Mall to Chatswood stopped running at 6 pm so I had to cross the road and catch the next B line or bus to Manly to connect with the 144 home. There was a very long queue for the next b line bus and passenger's were still lining up for the next B Line bus as the last one that artived was full. A Manly bendy bus arrived before tge b line so I hopped on , it was not full but quite a few passengers were already on it. I arrived in Manly in about 15 minutes crossed tge road and waited for tge next 144 home. I had to aajt about 15 mi nutes but I could tell I had not missed one as there were quite a few people waiting for it.
Home by 8 pm. Sleep. Dinner was the last of my vanilla yoghart and a whole punnet of blackberries as I could not be bothered cooking.
Sunday 22nd November 2020
Day off.
One of the team members I worked with yesterday is a also having a day off today as it is her birthday. Her brother is the Friday Favourite and we were sent a text message via What's App Group Chat to send him a message and send hom a liked. But wait even she wondered how he could be a Friday Favourite - he's only had one shift. Even a team member at the dock didn't think he worked for Myer anymore. So I sent him a congrats and gave him a liked after advised by the team I was working with said that no one had sent him a message or sent him a liked. He must be liked by the managers and other department's team members in Electricals if he is the Friday Favourite!
No plans for today another catch up day and overcast outside so not the best day to go out.
So today I baked a brownie - it's been a while since I last made one. A little bit of a disaster today. I was checking my Kronos and Myer Metrics yet again after what happened yesterday - if you don't you get into trouble as management is watching you all the time ( And I'm not lying about this as they can see who has logged in and who has not and that is why I always check that my location is off when I am not at work, they can check if I am logging on to Myer Metrics and watching and reading it's contents however it is none of their business where I am or what I do on my days off or outside of work - team members all know about this and told me about it when I started work at Myer & reminders are sent via text message on the Whats App Team Group Chat to all team members). This made me forget that I had a plastic jar of golden syrup I had left in a baking tray still in the oven ( I had left it there yesterday on top of a plastic snap lock bag as it had been leaking and I didn't want bugs being attracted to it). I put the block of butter in a baking dish in the oven to melt and when it was time to take it out I swore - nothing happened to the golden syrup but the plastic snaplock bag and the entire lid of the golden syrup jar and part of the top half of the plastic jar had melted completely. Still hot I removed the baking dish with the rather hot molten butter in it first out of the oven then removed as much of the molten golden syrup jar and plastic as much as I could placing them straight into the bin. Some plastic was still stuck to the baking tray but once cooled hardened up again and it could be peeled off. I think it would have been a bigger disaster if I had left the oven on at 180 degree Celsius for a much longer baking time. I tipped the molten butter into a mixing bowl whilst still hot and added the chocolate and otther ingredients before mixing & returning it to the buttered baking dish into the oven without a baking sheet or tray under it just a doubled up piece of foil. Brownie saved!
Next preparation of chicken udon with brocollini for lunch tomorrow. Stock in sliw cooker with hot watee from the kettle to speed up the process. In with the udon noodles and brocollini. Strain them both out into a bowl then in with the chicken thigh pieces into the hot broth for a much longer time until cooked. Blog catch up whilst waiting for the chocken to cook in the slow cooker. Done.
Since I am unlikely to travel overseas in January 2021 for my annual ski holiday in Canada, I have registered to participate for yet another unique free experience to participate in. Details still to be announced in January. The event is scheduled to go live on 23rd January 2021 globally.
Catch up with my blog - done. Watched the food channel & prepare for a very early start tomorrow leaving home no later then 6 am.
End of another week and another week closer to Christmas.
