Wednesday 1st - Thursday 30th November 2023 My Do Nothing Birthday, Sculpture By The Sea, Opera House Sustainability Tour, Cyber Aware Role Play & Melbourne Cup Betting

Wednesday 1st November 2023

A cooler 22 degrees C in Sydney today. It was a little wet last night and is still a little overcast but the sun is trying hard to peep out.

All day face to face programming class from 10 am - 4.30 pm today . I am so tired as I was again up late last night working on assessments. I really don't want to put up with the Nazi teacher again today after last Wednesday's classes and unexpected last minute Monday support class via teams which was only suppose to last 10 minutes minutes straight after we finished our Network Build class. I thought I was the only student singled out and kept asking what have I done wrong now? and that I must be in trouble . We only received a message via teams 5 minutes before the end of our face to face Network Build class. I was planning to leave to work on my assessments but this just put me right off it . My classmate EllaLee had just left the classroom but she was waiting for me or any other students that were messaged flagging me down and telling me how she received the same message I had received from our programming teacher to stay behind. I told her that I thought I was the only one singled out to stay back no there were other selected students  as well. So EllaLee and I were the only 2 that stayed back. We had to use our phones to join teams as were had not asked our Network Build teacher to unlock a spare classroom for us to log into use the computers in it and he even came out from his 30 minute lunch break before teaching his next class making a comment "oh you two are still here" surprised as he spotted us sitting in the hallway on EllaLee's phone ( it was echoing too much with both phones being used so we just used one). Our programming teacher asked us to use a laptop or desktop - we couldn't as we didn't have any with us. Total waste of our time he made use look and list all the variables on set of code that had nothing g to do with our assessment. why? Was he going to fail us if we didn't answer his questions? I had to interrupt him abruptly and ask him straight out  " What has this got to do with our assessment?" It didn't really. Such a waste of our time. I am way passed the variable section of the assessment and we both have already forwarded him with the files of these sections of the assessment.

This non mandatory support class was much more then the 10 minutes  - it seemed like over 30 minutes before it ended. So as punishment today, I'm going to show up late for class today which does not start until 10 am on campus. That's right I am going to take my time getting to class.

Sunday 5th November 2023

I was up very late past midnight doing my assessments last night.

It rained heavily again and this morning it's still very wet outside. The forecasted temoerature for today is 21 degrees C. I have to go out today as I have almost no groceries left - only a mango a punnet of blueberries a large lemon and some limes.

This morning I am making a bowl of oats with dome yoghart blueberries raspberries and that's all I could scounge up.

Ok so I made it to see Sculpture By The Sra on it's second last day. The rain finally stopped by the mid afternoon and held off long enough for hundreds of people to visit. The clouds were still hanging about and the sea was very wild with waves pounding constantly against the rocks all along the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk. At one stage up on Marks Park I thought it was about to downpour but it held off until I was almost home whilst I was grocery shopping at Coles and the IGA at St Leonards. I made a $5 donation that will go towards the Sculpture By the sea artists but did not go inside the Sculptures tent this year . It was a very quick visit this year but I think I managed to see all 100 or so sculptures.

Melbourne Cup Day!

What a perfect day to be walking around Sudney's foreshores!

This was not part of the tour but some type of sculpture exhibition around the forecourt of the Opera House.

This special Sydney Opera House Sustainability tour was run through Museums of History in conjunction with SEALs and Sydney Opera House tours via the Open Series as part of Sydney Open.  2 guides one from SEALs and one from Sydney Ooera House led the tour group. Above is Emma from SEALs one of our guides who was excellent.

My morning starts with a bus and train ride to Wynard where I stopped for a McDonalds saysage and egg McMuffin sans that awful plastic orange cheese avec tomato and lettuce. I think my childhood allergy is coming back to haunt me.haven't had McDonalds for a long time now but had a bad coughing fit after eating it. I just had to wait until went away. I think it has to do with preservatives which I have become quite sensitive to or it could be the processed oils.

A very sunny warm day this morning with a top of  23 degrees C. Perfect for the 9.30 am - 11 am  Museums of History Open Series Sydney Opera House Sustainability Tour meeting outside the stage doors  I have booked to go on today ( photos in some areas only allowed so I could not take any photographs of the new petals that replaced the clear doughnuts in the concert hall and there was an absolutely no videoing allowed inside all areas of the Opera House) Most of the photos that I was allowed to take are posted onto my facebook account which I don't use much as this blog does not upload photos very well therefore I had to find an alternative social media platform to upload them to. I could have spent hours editing them and making them into a slideshow for my YouTube channel but I have more pressing issues to deal with today therefore don't have the time).

I am so glad that I booked to go on this tour of the Opera House as it was no  run of the mill Opera House tour and there were only 2 of them in the series. The group was around 20 people with 2 guides Emma from SEALs and Celine from the Opera House. Both were excellent. We went to areas deep under the Opera House normal Opera House tours would not go to. It was really special. It started outside on the forecourt near the Man o War  ( is that what it is called?) Wharf  where we were told about the artificial reef created around the Opera House.  Since it was created marine life that had disappeared for decades had returned like the white seahorse.  Often seen are other marine animals but around this time of the year if you are lucky you may catch  a glimpse of Benny the seal make a random appearance at the Opera House alone - yes he is a male bachelor apparently, to sunbake briefly before disappearing back into the water. But unfortunately not today and it is a beautiful warm sunny day - maybe he gas gone to the races today.  He started appearing possibly due to the plentiful supply of food in Sydney"s harbour around the Opera House.

The tour continues through the undercover drop off pick up area on the forecourt level and up the stairs towards the famous Concert Hall via an accessible tunnel which itself is really interesting to walk through. If you look at it it looks as if it was there as an original structure from the beginning when the Opers House was being built in the late 1960s - 1973 opening but it was actually added recently and with very careful planning as the Opera House has adhere to strict heritage safety building etc legislations. It has been constructed so well it looks as if it's been there since the beginning as part of the structure - every detail matched. We continue up to one of the main foyer areas which was very purple - Throughout the Opera House there are different sections of colours - red green purple and there is wood carpet glass concrete and metal everywhere! Huge chunks of it!  In this large purple carpeted foyer we stop and spend a bit of time taking in the intense sunlight which instantly warms the entire foyer up - the natural light is amaziing and so are the 180 degree views of Sydney harbour! We learn a out the huge amount of technology to maintain the entire interior of the Opera House at a constant temperature ( not always comfortable as it takes time for the sensors to kick in) The problem with the amount of natural sunlight in this large foyer area is that it is great in a Winter as it warms the large area in the foyer up  but in Summer it can get pretty uncomfortably hot and you are unable to spend a long period of time here. It was felt today even at around 22 - 23 degree C outside. To maintain the temperature by cooling it requires most of the energy consumption within the Opera House. As we walk down the stairs we are told about how the middle circular handrail had to be added to comply with building safety regulations.  The original metal railings around the sides along the glass and walls are much thinner and not to standard but may have been back in the day. To match these thin metal rails the thicker circular middle hand rails were sourced carefully. Onto the Concert Hall. This was the highlight of the day however no photography or videos were allowed at all when we visited because the Sydney Symphony was rehearsing with Simone Young - if you don't know who she is, she is an award winning Australian conductor. ( Emma the guide actually pointed this out to me and I nodded as I already knew) We could not talk and had to turn our phones onto silent before we could enter. So I cannot show you any photos of the new "acoustic petals" that were installed to replace the clear doughnuts - yes the ones that are being auctioned off. Nobody knows how much the starting bid is. I at least counted the number of petals which seems to be more then the number of doughnuts that were replaced. The amount of wood and the wavey pattern around the Concert Hall are all to maximize the sound quality. The room is tuned to middle C which is pleasant to the ear. So many famous concerts have been held in this Concert Hall and it was decided ehen it was designed only to hold concerts in this larger Concert Hall and Opera and Ballet in the smaller Joan Sutherland Hall . Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Joan Sutherland Hall on this tour. We spent a bit of time in this Concert Hall bv before moving on to the Opera House below sea level Opera House maintenance & operations engine departments. Before this we were shown - the famous Green Room and it's actually not green and the story as to why it's called the green room is unclear as green actually is bad luck for performing artists. So this room is where artist go to get a bite to eat or relax when not on stage performing as well as used by staff of the Opera House. So at times you can spot ballet dancers in their tutus or opera singers in their costumes. Like other different areas of the Opera House , it is fully carpeted in a very dirty beige c coloured carpet which once could have been white - apparently it's original- I said doesn't matter food will get dropped on it anyway! Next we had a look at a fully accessible toilet - one of only a few . This room and it is a roo. had to be added and it is complete with a hoist and adult change area. It was really funny on the tour when we started walking I said this narrow corridor looks as if we are going to see the toilets and were actually were but not just any toilets.

Now onto the delivery area where extra equipment is stored as well as the receiving of catering supplies which is huge. Here we take a series of lifts ( which failed to open and close on the right floors)  down to a waste centre which was like a giant dumpster room - not really all I saw was a whole of of colour coded Sulo wheelie bins and a goods lift . There was probably a compactor somewhere but it was a bit of a squishy area which you expected would smell rather unpleasant but it actually wasn't. I think most of the rubbish had been really sorted and everything was sealed. It had a slight perfumed or scented disinfectant smell to it. Onto the engine room of the Opera House via yet another lift - I would hate to be down in these departments alone it a labyrinth!. The temperature control/maintenance room was below sea level and quite noisy so we spent as little time in it as possible. Here the seawater flowed in and out of the Opera House with sea water temperatures around 23 degrees C however the equipment down here has to be constantly monitored as it can only handle  seawater temperatures below 24 degree and must be maintained at this constant temperature range.,  If the oceans temperature increases plus or minus 2 degrees then it could be a problem. I asked if there was an escape route in the event there is an emergency as I could not see one - I am sure there is in one of the corridors and hopefully not the lift as again it was proving very unreliable with the tour group I was on - probably just the operator with the swipe card or keys ! I have to tell you it did feel a little bit like being in a submarine down there - full of pumps buttons nosey and confined spaces.

Back up the lift and to our final destination of the Opera House tour - a mini replica of the Concert Hall. It really looked like a quiet room or prayer room with it minimalistic look and 2 single bright quilted purple cushioned seat benches but it was put in place during COVID for people to experience  the concert hall when we couldn't apparently. It's absolutely beautiful and our tour concluded with a beautifully put together 5 minute video projected on the 2 walls and ceiling of this little room where you can just sit on the floor and watch. The footage was of the Opera House construction, the fireworks, various celebrities that have performed at the Opera House , the Queen opening it and Indigenous artwork.

I thanked the guides picked up my backpack from cloaking after asking questions about volunteering opportunities. It is now 11 am.

After picking up my backpack from downstairs after the tour I walked back to Wynard Station but not until I had a look at what was going on outside the Opera House . There were sculptures around but I did not understand what they were there for. Was there something on in the Royal  Botanic Gardens as well? Not that I could see. I caught the train back to Chatswood to grocery shop but not before stopping at the local TAB to place a bet on the Melbourne Cup. I had no idea which horses to bet on nor did I know which horses were the favourites for this years Melbourne Cup. I was just not interested this year in the Melbourne Cup - it's not a public holiday here in Sydney either - to compete with the Melbourne Cup Sydney is now hosting The Big Dance I think it's called at Randwick. So I purchased my ticket and took it to the counter to pay for it. I did have a second win or place ticket  just with mum's favourite number horse on it but decided to bin it and only kept one win or place ticket - just as well as # 8 did not do very well at all in the Melbourne Cup. Gee I placed a whole $4 bet for this year's Melbourne Cup!

Onto grocery shopping and I forgot about the specials at Mr Vitamins where the entire Antipodes range was on sale to members for one day today only and this brand of skincare is usually quite expensive and I use a lot of it. It is really good for people with quite bad allergies very sensitive skin and hereditary ezcema like me because it's mainly natural. I forgot to go back and purchase some today.

Onto the Chase to the larger Coles to do some grocery shopping via a green grocer  what no corriander? So I just ended up purchasing 2 white nectarines before heading to Coles. Again at Coles again no corriander. I did find a few other things though including lots of different boxed mini panattone which are getting more and more difficult to find at all supermarkets ( the illusive pear and chocolate one is my favourite which I have not been able to find anywhere so grabbed one from this Coles) and had a snack of one seaweed nori ( which I don't seem to be allergic to)  from Sushi Hub the only food concession open in The Chase at the moment due to almost the entire food court closed to renovations with only a pop up mobile coffee cart the old Indian counter and Old Shanghai still open. You can't close the Old Shanghai because it is quite large and busy  but I don't know why the little Indian counter is still open.

I missed the Melbourne Cup race at 3 pm and don''t know which horses came 1st 2nd and 3rd. I don't really care and had a quick look and don't think any of the horses I chose won and if any one of them did I would not get much anyway. I know one of the horses I   chose don't ask me which one didn't even finish the race and as soon as I saw that I just ignored the rest of it.

Now I am going to document something about my studies which is part of the reason why I did not attend class today. Yes I am sick but not that sick that I can't attend class. I am tired but its all because of the stress my classmate put on me. I know that I should not worry about it but the more I think it is a possibility that it could happen the more it bothers me and the more I just don't feel like attending class or finishing my assessments.I should take my other classmate's advice and not to stress. Ok where can I start. I made a mistake this time round on who I chose to do my role play with for the Cyber Aware  connected class although it was not really necessary to work with a classmate you actually know but it helps otherwise you will be paired in a  break out room ( a private chat room online in teams for readers who are unfamiliar with teams)  with just the teacher ( male and have never met )  and a random classmate you have never met therefore don't know ie 2 total strangers online. I don't think this is very safe for a start as the teacher has the "keys" to the chat room. This is a Cyber Aware class after all  therefore I am exercising cyber awareness.  So from the beginning of the course my EllaLee was complaining that the percentage of course completed indicator on the Tafe digital learning course was not increasing as she claimed as she finished each assessment ( not entire module) and how slack the Australian education system is compared to the Korean system. I advised her it is not and in the cert 2 applied digital technology course we all worked really hard and we were almost all Asian mature aged students so took our studies very seriously. I said to EllaLee that my indicator was increasing and in no time all my knowledge assessments were completed and submitted and I passed all of them. I had planned to get every single one of them out of the way as the skills tests ta l.j e up most of the time so now I could concentrate on them. Throughout the course we helped each other with things. Things I could not do she helped me with and things she could not do I helped her with. She skipped a few classes for one of the role plays so I teamed up with another classmate who was just excellent to work with and never stresses out and I think our teach liked out role pay assessment. For another subject's role play a much smaller one, I asked EllaLee to do it with me . Both role plays were face to face so far but one of the others was one on one with the teacher and another one was a written recording . I helped Ella with the smaller role play with tips of how she should answer the questions with my answers to the questions as examples. I then asked her again if she wanted to work on the Cyber Aware role play with me. This was months ago and at that point was going to ask another classmate instead if EllaLee failed to show up for face to face classes again. I made a big mistake with my choice. In the meantime we had a group assessment to complete and there was a max of 4 classmates per team, I chose the classmate I did my first role play with as first choice EllaLee as second choice (although she was absent again face to face) and finally a 4th classmate who I had to include because his little buddy classmate was absent again and nobody knew where he had gone . I don't like to leave any classmates out. In the end the teacher for this team exercise in class changed the written assessment rules of max 4 per team when the little buddy classmate just decides to turn up to face to face class when the rest of the team had almost finished the e exercise.  In one of the feedback questions on the team exercise performed one of the classmates and I were unhappy about this but in the end we just accepted the situation gave the feed back and didn't mention the name of the classmate that frustrated us. By this stage I should have seen the signs that EllaLee was not pulling her weight and her level of thinking was very narrow. I made myself team leader otherwise there would not be a team exercise completed - code name ended up DJ HEJ ( it would have been better just as DJ H ie less 2 classmates in the team exercise).  weeks pass and I asked EllaLee if she still wanted to work with me on the Cyber Aware role play and she still said yes eventhough she was attending classes less and less face to face. I got to the point where about a few weeks ago I was almost ready to work on the role play with her and she said to me she wanted to speak to her Korean friend in the other group ( they were in the same course but in group A , we are in group B) as she had done the role play and EllaLee mentions she didn't think the teacher marked her Korean friend very well on it. Ella wanted to find out more and get back to me to discuss. EllaLee never did get back to me and one lunch even told me she could not have lunch with me because she was meeting her Korean friend for lunch I said ok as I thought she was going to ask her about what to expect in the Cyber Aware role play. I was wrong. I started on my 10 questions for the Cyber Aware role play and finished it in a few hours ( probably going into far more detail then necessary). So Ellalee continued not to attend less and less classes face to face and even online ( she was sick for a week or so and I think she was the one who had  the COVID case that was reported in that building although she said she did not). The only class she attended was Network Build but she said she had lost a lot of assessment files. How is this possible ? I lost some of mine because I wasn't backing up properly on OneDrive but I am rebuilding all my assessments that I have lost. I think I know how she lost it because she said she clicked on the email1 or email 2 links the Cyber Aware teacher had sent to us which was part of our assessment - we were warned that it should not cause any harm as it contain the EICAR file which is a harmless virus mimicking file used to test antivirus software - but who knows what the teach snuck into each of the 2 emails sent to us. Time was ticking and last week I asked EllaLee yet again whether she still wanted to do the role play again with me and she said yes. This was Friday night and I had well and truely finished my 10 Cyber Aware role play questions and answers as well. She was at work and said to me if she could get back to me after work I replied sure and by now I had given her instructions on how and what to do and prepare for the role play and said it's not that complicated just take task the comments in the left handside of task 3.4 and turn them into questions then think about the answers. I also told her that I wish I could bring another make classmate in to get  them to play the role of Amanda and also explained to her how I spoke to one of our other classmates as he had also already done the role play the week before about what it was like and found out how when he was put with a random classmate he had never met before had a different agenda to him so it does really help to work with classmates you actually know in person. I made this clear to EllaLee as well . All this time I was helping her. Her last responses were you mean Justine ? What was she on the sender of the suspect email was Amanda! I asked her if she had even read the question or the senario or even the Gelos policies and procedures? She also asked if I was doing the role play with the other class member I mentioned who had already done it. When she didn't get back to me with anything by Saturday night, I contacted the other classmate on Sunday and asked him if he was ready to do the role play explaining my dilemma. I find out that he is ready to do his role play as well. Great . He was the one who suggested that if EllaLee did not get back to me by tomorrow (Monday)  that we do it together. I said sounds like a great contingency plan ( I wonder if he knows what contingency means - does not matter he is keen to learn). By Monday I there is no way EllaLee could avoid me because the teacher expects us to be in class to do the Networkbuild class as the class is not an online option. So I gave EllaLee my questions ( I asked her to take photographs of them)  and all she had to do was prepare answers to them - I did not make up questions for her as well - that would be going too far , she could take my instructions and questions and make up her own. Ok by Tuesday I still had not heard from her so chased her up again and she told me to give her 25 minutes to complete them. The Cyber Aware class starts in 30 minutes! I had contacted the other classmate and had agreed to do it together after the break tonight  as I was getting nowhere with EllaLee. No more mucking around , I just messaged her again and she advises me that she just got the questions from her Korean friend and it was impossible to answer all the question in such a short time and then decides to bail on me apologising and she will do it separately. I just said to her that she could no longer use my questions. I suspect she maybe cheating by taking questions from another student instead of making them up herself. My concern is she will still use my questions to formulate her answers - she will find out that it no longer works that way with a random classmate as they may indeed have another agenda. EllaLee did try to apologies but at the moment I can't accept her apology. She wasted my time and I am concerned that she will just use my questions without changing any of them. Hopefully the teacher will pick up on how she doesn't have a clue. Back to how the role play went with my other classmate - he thinks we aced it but I am unsure. I had to pause for quite a long time with my questions because the teacher's microphone was really noisy and my classmate had to ask him to do something about it. We were put in vitual room 1 with one teacher ( the not so nice one) . You have to remember we are in cyber space and we both can't see each other. Things can go wrong but we asked for 5 minutes to discuss.  All good ( I hope - we certainly anwsered the questions on lessons learnt from the incident and recommendations). I thanked my classmate for getting me out of a sticky situation and for the remainder of the course I will try and not help EllaLee out anymore with her assessments.

After the roleplay we needed to copy the links of our recordings ( our transcripts ) to our assessment - I asked for a work around but I had  no internet connection for some reason . I did not get the files attached to my email my teacher had sent to me. Ummm.... .

Storms threaten today's Melbourne Cup race on this afternoon . I placed my bet win or place $0.50 either way on 4 horses this year 2 4 5 & 8. Where 4 has no chance of winning but it's my birthday, 8 for my late mother because it was her favourite number and is a lucky number in Chinese and a lady at the TAB told me it's an Australian horse and popular amongst beters. The Tan staff member fill in number horse 9  and he had to  re complete my betting form because I didn't want that number horse. Maybe thst"s a sign that I should place a bet on horse number 9 which is also Australian  but not a favourite for the Melbourne Cup that I know of. Number 5 horse because it is a favourite _ the majority of the time the favourites aren't actually the favourite. and Number 1 horse because I just like the name.

Today is a top of 27 degrees C mostly sunny ! Hot Hot Hot!

This morning I sent a message quite early before my face to face programming classes to my Tafe teacher to advise him that I hope he gets my message due to the Optus outage and he did. I advised him that I will not be attending class face to face or online today as I am feeling sick and if i feel better will join online later today - I was hoping the Optus outage was affecting Tafe ( hah ha only joking)  - I suspect the Optus outage may have started earlier then 4 am this morning.I suddenly had no internet connection late last night.

OK this morning after countless days of the block of bricks being delivered and dumped in the car park outside the apartment block a trades person has finally arrived to rebuild for the 3rd time the block of mail boxes in the front wall that that last car that sun out of control crashed into amd knocked over demolishing it. Let's see how long this block of mail boxes last until the next car crashes into it and demolishes it!

I am just sleeping most of this morning and feeling really tired for some reason. Tomorrow I am going to class as I would like to complete my  Systems admin assessment and submit it.

Melbourne's entire rail network is down this morning ( as their communications backup system uses Optus) as a major Optus outage is causing chaos around Australia with an estimated 10 million Optus customers affected with no communications . DoDo Amaysim and possibly other internet service provider's customers are also affected as these use the Optus network for their services . In addition  thunderstorms right after the Melbourne Cup yesterday have caused power outages in some areas  - it's all happening in Melbourne at the moment ! Hospitals are also affected around Australia with patients and staff not being able to communicate with hosptals due to the Optus outage. Engineers at Optus are working on getting the network up and running again and there has been no response from Optus as to the cause eg a configuration problem when updating software and/or whether it was a possible cyber attack. ( I hope Tafe isn't using Optus as I sent a message to my teacher advising him that I will not be attending class this morning not even online because I am not feeling well ) . Another interest rate rise by the RBA was announced yesterday - it's 13th rate rise what is it upto now 4.35%?! What this does to the housing market is owning a home right now is only a dream and home owners already under mortgage stress will have to find additional funds out of their budgets in order to meet additional mortage repayments. eg on a $500 000 mortgage an extra $76 will need to be paid however banks have not passed on this rate increase onto customers yet as it take around 2 weeks for increases in interest rates to be passed onto customers. The banks will not take your home away from you if you are having difficulty meeting mortgage repayments but will negotiate with hardship repayment assistance or internal and external financial counseling. Rents will increase as investment property owners also need to meet increases in their mortgage repayments.  With a very tight rental market where housing demand is outstripping supply this is also becoming a problem for renters unable to meet rental payment increases.

I really hate Microsoft and this is why. Something weird is going on with my One Drive. I have completely lost my Network Build Assessment file . I searched verywherfor it even the recuclebin and it is nowhere which means I wastedall my time last week doing it in class. It's not the first time I've lost files on One  Drive . There is something going on with my Cyber Aware assessment as well where I lost that file as well and it's not saving properly or to the right place. Last night s ok methinreally weird hapoened  when I was searching for my files on One Drive and one of the student's class assessments file appeared on my One Drive and had his name against it. I thought it was mine initially as the file name is the same for assessments and clicked into it but found it was someone elses assessment complete will all the answers but the formatting was shocking! It was not seeing things it was definitely not my assesdment file. How on earth did this happen? Has One Drive had a cyber breach incident? I also wonder if it had anything to do with me sending one of the teacher last week an email ntifying them that I did not receive the  attachments of  2 files to my test email set up for the this cyber aware subject and getting response with only some type of link which I did not click on because it looked suspicious.

A top of  26 C and a few clouds around.

Today I had another APM appointment at 9.30 am .

After my appointment it was another day spent at the Tafe library to finish off my Cyber Aware assessment. I also spent the morning doing a little more of the final part of the Systems Administration assessment.

I only attended the first half hour of the class as the class started at 6 pm and the library closesat 7 pm so I left a little after 6.30 pm before it got dark. I continued to work on my assessment for Cyber Aware. I have worked very hard on this subject to complete it. I had to ask how to copy the link  of the role play I did with my classmate last week as I could not copy it from Outlook. Still have not worked this out. But now that I have finished my assessment I still have time to find a way to copy these files and attacthem to my assessment. I did not return to class tonight.

I am feeling very tired and think I will sleep in tomorrow and then head off to the Tafe library again to work on my programming assessment.

Wednesday 15th November 2023

Sydney is 25 degrees C forecasted for today. The cloud are looming again.

I didn't want to go to programming classes today as I wanted to head to the library to work on my proframming assessment and finish it off. I was tired from working on my Cyber Aware assessment for the past 2 days so decided to join online this morning heading into face to face class after lunch . The teacher wasn't happy that J had not attended class for 2 weeks including support classes. 1 I had to correct him it was just one week and I had sent him a message in advance that I was sick and 2  I only missed one support class on Monday afternoon which is not even compulsory. We are allowed to miss a class or 2 as long as we catch up and I was definitely not behind. I advised the teacher when I joined the class online that I will be in after lunch and that I can't concentrate with teams on in the background. I need total concentration when working on my assessments hence the tafe library is a great place to do my assessments.

Unfortunately EllaLee had the same idea to come to face to face class after lunch. I had not seen her for 2 weeks. The teacher was ok with us coming in after lunch.

The teacher was having a trippy day today place a tropical background on teams with a table in front that looked as if he was part of "The Last Supper" because we can't see who is actually in class and who is online, I had my headset in and could not hear anything but could see my teacher. He was on mute having a conversation with a classmate in class. I sent him a message and asked why I could not here him. He responded with having a conversatiowith the classmate and eating grapes ( which I could see him pretending to on the screen). I was not amused so responded with "I'm deaf not blind!" He did think this was funny.

So I ended up going to the tafe library and continued to work on my assessment and returned online ( I did tell my teacher that if I go off line it means that I can't concentrate) asked a few questions before returning to class during lunch break. EllaLehad not arrived yet but one of only 2 classmates were so I spoke to him about this assessment. I was panicking and said the teacher is going to fail me as he didn't like my variables that I had listed and because I didn't attend class. He kept saying that would not fail and I took some screen shots of  my classmates variables which were the same as mine.

When the teacher arrived he asked were EllaLee was.  I said " I don't know!" Which he responded "You two are always together!" Which I responded " I haven't seen her for 2 weeks , We're not even from the same country!"

EllaLee did arrive a little later. The teacher the  went though part 5 of the assessment debugging with us . I wanted to go to the library afterwards and so did EllaLebut he would not let us go. I panicked as I could not work under his dictatorshiway of teaching - I think he just doesn't want his students to fail his classes. After spending  time with me going through what I had done guided me through missing bits and pieces tested my program and put all my files I had worked on together zipped them for me and I submitted them ( I could have done all this myself all I needed was a list of which files had to go where and submithem). The teacher marked them all satisfactory and asked me to do a backup om one drive as proof this subject is completed. Now I don't have to attend hos classes anymore. One more subject bites the dust. All this time he didn't trust me with what I was working on in his classes.

Poor EllaLee is struggling still trying to finish assessment. I think it was way past 5 pm when we were still in class. Class finished at 4.30 am.

No time to go to the library today .I am exhausted and going straight home. I took a walk to clear my head.

When I arrived home I finalised my Cyber Aware assessment and submitted it too. It is not quite complete as I need to wait for the teacher to mark it as satisfactory before I perform the final part of the assessment to delete the account and submited evidence that I had done so.

Sleep!

Ditto for Robbie Williams concert in Sydney when another virgin flight was cancelled from Adelaide to Sydney. Passengers at least could get on alternative Qantas and Jetstar flights. What can you do when the flight you are on is about to depart off the tarmac  ie all are passengers checked in & have gone through security, backs checked in and loaded onto plane passengers probably all seated buckled up and carryon luggage stowed etc when it is announced that the flight is now cancelled?  And this is why I hate flighting ( besides the safety risks)

Saturday 18th November 2023

A top of  23- 24 degrees C today. It was windy this morning.

I headed to the GFWS Christmas markets after 12 noon by bus and train but when I got to St Leonard's Ststion had a nasty fall tripping over something thinking I could rebalance only to come crashing to the ground and hitting my right knee again and grazing it , grazing my left hand and even hitting my right forehead . I was in pain and thought there goes my trip to the GFWS out at Carriageworks . I limped to the toilets and armed with an antibacteriawet wipe inspected my injuries. My right hand escaped unbroken and only slightly grazed (not as bad as my last trip and fall) and my forehead is ok then came my knee, it is badly bruised but only slightly grazed and thangoodness my $30 something red Guess tracksuit pants are still intact! I would have spewed if it got a hole in it from the fall but does have a very weakpatch that will form a hole in the next wash.

I was not the only person to face a massive fall today. Still sore I was walking towards carriageworks along a rather narrow lane which is not very well maintained with uprooted treesalong its footpath and an older lady had a trip and fall breaking most of her glasses and bottles in her shopping bag that she had just purchased from the GFWS and also had cuts to her hand and forehead , she was bleeding and I wasn't sure whether to call for an ambulance or not. She was in a bad way shaking badly as well. She had some people with her who helpeher so she was looked after and someone did ask if she needed first aid but the answer was no. I got out my disinfectant wipes and offered one to the group. They had tissue but I think a wet wipe would help to clean any wounds. I continued onto Carriageworks . The regular Saturday markets had almost all packed up and there was an awful lot of people headed back towards redfern station. I was just arriving.

I thought it was meant to be much cooler today. Not here inside at The GFWS Christmas Markets at Cartiageworks - it's worse the the last indoor markets that were held here. Is it worth the $15 entry fee? No not in Sydney, the Melbourne one was much better last year because it has a much better venue and not so hot!

By the time I got there the caviar from the Murray Cod and had sold out. The Festive Food Hall was again pretty ordinary but El's Fried Chicken had made an appearance again. So did Goose On The Loose, Eden NZ  cherry Juice, Sodasmith, Murray River Salt, just to name a few food and beverage stalls.

So what did I buy today? what did I watch and what freebies did I get?

I queued up and spun the Smooth FM wheel but missed out on winning a prize - no surprise there I never win anything and when I do it's something that I don't want or can't use. I also got 4 x 4pkts of Continental Stock Pot Sensations Beef , a chocolate mazipan heart , a small round of chocolate mazipan when I purchased a packet of $35 mixed varieties of  flavours of mazipan chocolates, a bottle of water for watching the French baked cheese show and a 3 pkt of matcha tea pods which I will have to break open and use as I don't own a coffee pod machine when I purchased some Japanese pine apple tea and strawberry mini biscuits.

I left the show at around 4.30 pm as I was getting bored and tired. The crowds had died down by now. Overall I really didn't think

I'm disappointed Machappy Day was only for a short period of time today.  I only got to the McDonalds after 6 pm today and tried to purchase a pair of Grimace socks and they weren't selling them anymore. I didn't want to purchase a Bigmac as I hate them so it was either make a donation or get a piece of their merchandise.

I had some unappetizing octapusballs from sushi world- the worst I have ever had. Should have had something else. Since when are octapus balls eaten with mayo and teriyaki sauce? Sushi world is not Japanese at all. Oh how I miss Tamon in The Chase which has shutdown as the entire food court except Shanghai Dumplings for renovations ( yep still and it will be a while until the food court reopens).

Home after some more grocery shopping.

I still haven't had my assessment marked for my privacyand security subject and it's been about 5 weeks now. I am concerned. If I fail it would have been a total waste of my time as I should have got an exemption for the subject but did it anyway along with my Cyberaware which has been marked.

Tuesday 21st November 2023

A rather wet day today as it rained overnight. A top of 26 degrees C today but very cloudy.

I plan to spend another day at the library today.

I haven't been to Chatswood Library for a long time as I go to the Tafe Library and also to St Leonards Library when it's open.

I chose to do so because the Tafe Library closes at 7 pm and the Chatswood Library closes at 9 pm and also I can go shopping and have something to eat when I need to.

I had a mini spicy chicken burrito from GyG before heading to Chatswood Library . It cost me $9.50 but it was just enough to fill my belly.

Arriving so late to Chatswood Library there was not a sgledesk a ailable with a power point that I could plug my electro ic devices into but I found a great very quite spot in the creativeroom which used to be the quite computer room. No computerare in there anymore as most people byo electronic devices however I could only use this space until 3.30 pm as there was a class on in this room from 3.30 pm - 8.30 pm ( the library closes at 9 pm and I have no intention of staying that late) - oh shoot I forgot about my Cyber Aware connected class tonight starting at 6 pm.

After 3 pm I found this Quiet Pod and it was empty. What is it and what is it used for? So I read the information sign went to the library information desk and booked it for the maximum 2 hours allowed per day with my library card. I was given a bit of an orientation about it and left to use it. ( refer my 2 YouTube shorts uploaded for descriptionof what it looks like and how it works) . I was in there and watching the time on the display finishing my 2 assessments and submitting them. When I was finalizing the last part and submitting my cyber aware assessment I forgot the time a d missed the first hour or so of the Cyber Aware clas  but they were just chatting about some AI course. Damn it I missed what it was about.

I listened in on the conversation until I had to do some grocery shopping  and left the connected class which was around 7 pm as they were going I to breakout rooms to do their role plays and I had already done it with a classmate previously.

After a quick grocery shop it was home. Sleep. Do it all again tomorrow.

For dinner I had the lot Turkish gozleme mushroom cheese spinchbeef and mushroombut after I had a 6 pot of plain grilled salmon sushi. I walked around and around trying to decide what to have for dinner should I get a pizza or should I get a Greek lamb souvlaki how about pot stickers which I still have not tried from LinLins? The problem is my severe allergies and everything is so fried or drenched in oil or heavy cheese. I went for the eual healthiest thing at the markets eventhough it still had cheese.  I almost purchased a paella but it has shellfish in it.

Dinner was a regular sized spicy chicken burrito with corriander from GyG - it was quite a wait tonight to get it and when I got it , it wasn't that good this time round . It was probably made in a rush due to how busy it was there as it was not just a Friday night but Black Friday night where everyone was out and about as mist shops were open until 9 or 10 pm, the Chatswood markets were on and the packed library full of students studying for the final exams or finishing off their final assessments like I was were leaving g the library as it closed to find something close to have for dinner or take home to eat as it is still a horrible rainy night.

A top up of my Opal card which has $1.50 or so left on it and a quick grocery top up shop at Woolworths metro I head home.  I missed the bus so had to wait for the next one. The up esculators were out of order everywhere. So I had to walk around or use a lift.

Lunch was a sinfle Californian sushi roll from a  real Japsnesesushi place at Wynyard ( I can tell the difference between a chain sushi store and  a real Japnese one by the taste quality and price)  before spending the rest of the afternoon at Chatswood Library again. I still am unable to complete this last assessment so I am in a dilema now ask for an extension or withdrafrom the subject. I had finished and passed every subject except this one over a week ago before I had that fall at St Leonard's that put me back a week. I was in do much pain from the fall I could not attend class the Monday after that weekend when it happened it was the first class I missed for that subject. I was really trying to finish my assessment but realise now that I don't think I am able to and the deadline is this Coming Monday.  One of my classmates asked me to help her catch up with her assessments and I could not help her and I had messaged another classmate after the accident I had that I wish someone could help me or do my  networking assessment .

Monday 27th November 2023

I wake up this morning with another asthma attack. Not uncommon for me to have them around this time of the year especially with the wild weather recently.

It was so hot yesterday reaching 29 degrees C apparently.  Today seems a little cooler but I haven't checked the forecast for today.

I am still unsure what to do today should I apply for an extension for my very last assessment due or withdraw from the subject? I don't want to fail but definitely can't submit my assessment by this morning..

Extension  has been granted but I found out my classmate also asked for an extension.

I was in the library most of today but my allergies are out of control. Coughing watery eyes runny nose. It's not a cold or flu as I don't feel "sick" .

I took a break for some awful sushi before heading back to the library for a hour or do before heading home. I am so tired but my assessment is still not finished.

Received an email for digital mentor tomorrow. I want to go  so will try and make it. If I do I will be buddied up with another digital mentor.I may have to wait until next week. If my allergies continue.

Wednesday 29th November 2023

It rained and it rained most of yesterday and overnight into the morning.

I am still doing my network build assessment. I am now going through and seeing what bits and pieces I am missing.

Today I paid my rent for the month as well as my Telstra bill for 2 months and my health insurance for the month. Not all the Bill's but about half of them .Ihave to keep on top of my bills constsntly.

I tried so hard to finish my assessment but just can't seem to do so. The stress is not doing my asthma any good either. So I asked for an extension as I definitely won'tbe able to finish it by tonight. I actually am thinking of withdrawing from the subject.

At 1.30 pm today I dialed in via Zoom to Canada to attend the annual general meeting . It is now only 30 minutes long not 1 hour as previously run and there was not much discussed at the meeting. Most of the meeting was discussion of marketing ideas of attracting new owners and the re election of board members as well as a call out for new board members which are volunteer positions. There were 3 spots on the board vacant and I had been thinking for a while about  joining the board finally mentioning it at this AGM however I still did not put my hand up in the end due to big time zone differences and discussion of what the volunteer position would involved so 3 seniors did put their hands up and I agreed to their election to the board.  Most board members are local ie the most distance being across the border of the US Canadian border in Washington State. Most of the owners of this time share are aging hence the need for new owners and board members. No financials were really discuss however there was mention of suggested amenities like a snack machine for the pool area, maintenance of the apartments and building . Question time - well there wasn't really one, if you had a question you had to interrupt like I did - I mention how I have been an owner since 2000 and the program where there used to be a discovery week for potentialbuyers in the past when the original Whiski Jack was involved. I think some owners join this meeting via Zoom for the social interaction as well not just to keep upto date with what is happening.

I have sent a message to my teacher and was given another extension and also formally asked for an extension by filling out an extension form and returning it out by email to Tafe administration. They wanted a medical certificate but I did not actually go to a doctor to  get one. I just limped to the toilet at St Leonard's made sure that nothing was cut or grazed but I was in a pain. The next day was the worst moving my leg was painful and the pain continued for the rest of the weekbut gradually decreased. Still not 100% yet.

I managed to do just one load of laundry this morning.

Thursday 30th November 2023

Last day of Spring and the sun is trying to come out today after yesterdays wild weather of  heavy downpours of rain and a severe thunder and lightening show that went I to the night and into the morning. I was so sick yesterday with a very bad asthma attack which lasted for quite a while. I am still very tired . It looks as if it will be a nice day today. Oh dear more rain and possible more storms to come today. A top of  25 degrees C today.

I washed my dishes first thing this morning.

Today I did not touch my Network Build Assessment.  Found out in the afternoon that that another student still has not completed it or that it has been returned as unsatisfactory. I wonder who else has not completed it.

It rained in the evening whilst I was out grocery shopping at Coles at Chatswood Chase. Most of the building is still under renovations and more chaotic then before. Everything is boarded up.

Missed the bus home as it rained and unble to run to awaiting bus. Did not want to have another accident by slipping on tiles in the dark either.
