This morning I saw the initial train testing of the new Metroline to Chatswood Station whilst waiting for my train in the opposit direction to work.
This new Metroline train still does not carry passengers during its testing phase but they seem to be running very smoothly during their testing.
The differences between the new Metroline trains and the normal trains are :
1. They are driverless
2. The platforms are barricaded with glass and automatic gates that open and close in sync with the trains doors opening and closing
3. They are very long single decker only spending the entire length of each platform.
At this point in testing there was only a single Metroline train running however on the next morning of testing there were 2 trains running in opposite directions simultaneously.
I wonder when it will start taking its first test passengers? I would love to be one of the first passengers on the train.
