Saturday 1st June - Sunday 30th June 2024

 Saturday 1st June

1st day of Winter and we were warned that a colder wet spell is coming. Yesterday it was quite warm and most of Autumn was in the late 20s to mid 20s degree C. It sure is overcast and dark this morning so it could start raining today.

This morning I put my first batch of laundry into the washing machine. I will save the second batch ( colours for later as I don't do half loads).

I do have plans for this weekend although it may not include VIVID as I have lost interest in it this year. It has been scaled down and there is an increase in ticketed events. Disappointed that I could not get a ticket on the techno train which is completely sold out and I joined the wait list which fat chance I will get a ticket .

Next wash dishes, have a shower and think about other stuff.

The SOLD sign still hasn't been put up on the auction sign outside nor has the auction sign been taken down. The property was sold almost a week ago. I am still searching for a place to live as eventually I will be evicted. The stress and pressure of trying to complete assessments and group work is causing my allergies to flare up and it does not help with the environment grass rain trees ventilation etc.

It started to pour with rain as forecasted and would last for the weekend , clearing up on Mon & Tues before raining again on Wed Thurs & Fri.

You know when you take a planned but unplanned last minute escape. Probably not. I had planned to travel to Melb again on Fri night but had too much on so decided not to but a last minute booking to go to the GFWS Melb @ MCEC  & Beings @  ACMI on Sat morning for Saturday night I made saw me spend Saturday night Sunday Monday arriving back to Syd on Tues morning.

Economy XPT Syd to Melb Sat overnight service

First class XPT Melb to Syd ( don't ask me why I booked it this way) Mon overnight service  Fiying was an option but cost unfeasable overnight service

Overnight Sun @ YHA Melb Central in a 6 share female dorm ( 4 share was sold out and so were private room I booked the last 6 share female bed ) and concession tickets to the GFWS on Sun and Beings on Mon . That's all the bookings I needed.

King's Birthday Long Weekend (not really I thougt his birthday was not until November some time, not even the Late Queen's real birthday long weekend public holiday - it's just a long tradition that this is the set date for the late Queen's birthday long weekend).

It's still raining and rained overnight just stopping briefly. A forecasted temperature top of 21 degrees C today  - hardly Winter temperatures. Flooding has occurred as the Warragamba Dam spilled for a second time this year in Sydney's Western and South Western suburbs. It's the King's birthday long weekend and opening weekend of the ski season with any snow that fell washed away from all the rain at Perisher - not a good start to the ski season this year.

I am so glad I did not go to VIVID tonight. There was a safety concern as crowds at Circular Quay were so packed people could not move and it only took one person to fall to cause a domino effect accident - crowds were worse then NYE just to see the drone show ( it was the first night without rain, a Saturday night and the King's birthday long weekend). The drone show is on again tomorrow night and closing night 15th June. Tgey should really have more shows during the week weather permitting.

The search continues of the missing celebrity doctor Dr Mosely on a Greek Island. There are several theories about his disappearance which include he was on a coastal walk and fallen down into the water below. Sunday

Another clear day this morning. The sun is trying hard to come out.

Yesterday I spent most of my day not doing any assessments but grocery shopping at Macquarie Shopping Centre, paying remaining bills, getting change for laundry , recharging my Opal card and returning my bottles for recycling. All things I find it diffumicult to do in Chatswood as the recycling machine is always full and shut, the Woolworths Metro does not give change and hardly takes cash and the Coles Local doesn't like giving change , the only thing I can do is recharge my Opal card and the Aldi  main Coles and Woolworths are not all in the same location. Only the Coles Local and  smaller Aldi are in the Westfield and there is no main Woolworths in Chatswood just a Metro. Both the Coles Local and Woolworth Metro never have the grocery items I need so I have to go to Macquarie Shopping Centre by bus or Metroline to get there.

I must do my assessments today.

ANZ forecasts no interest rate cuts until February 2025 along with other banks . One economist also forecasts a rate rise in August . Jim Charmers begs to differ. Only the RBA knows what's in stall as they are the ones tgat decide month to month whether there will be an interest rate increase, decrease or hold independent of tge Australian government. I think about 50% of my classmates are either seeking extensions or repeating the course next semester including me considering it - actually I have been saying that I will be repeating the course next semester to my teachers for weeks now. There is just so much to complete. Some of us are even considering going backwards to a cert 3 and doing it ( it is a new revised course)

Rain is also forecasted. zero and even sub zeri degrees C temperatures are expected.

Saturday

It's still pouring with rain and had rained throughout the night. I am now feeling the cold at 8 am this morning turning on the heater. It's mean to clear up  later today with a top of 16 degrees C.

Worked on my Twine assessment this morning.

Went to the closing night of VIVID. paid $51 to see Dark Spectum only spent 30 minutes there. Nothing special. Drone show at 9pm and 9.10 pm tonight was cancelled at the last minute. Disappointment at VIVID this year. Did not go to Barangaroo this year.

It was dark cold and wet tonight.

Upon arriving back to the apartment I spotted a cute brush tail possum scurry across a telephone wire from a tree on the footpath  connecting a telegraph pole to the roof of the motel building next door .  The building I live in doesn't have any poles or wires connecting to it and the closest tree on the footpath is a bit further away from the building. There is always the screeching sound of some animal and I suspected it was possums but never saw any just parakeets - lots of them in the trees on the foortpath and they are really noisy. It was definitely not a rat as rats don't run across telephone wires above and certainly don't have a curled bushy tail.

Princess Kate makes an appearance on the balcony with her family at The Trooping of The Colour and also in the carriage with her family. She looks beautiful despite her cancer treatment. Prince Louis was as naughty as ever with big sister Charlotte telking him off again as he wiggles and highles on the balcony.

QLD biggest immigration destination due to better weather and lifestyle. Meanwhile in the news - There was a "Please explain" as Pauline Hanson was asked by Robert Irwin to remove defaming video by Monday afternoon or face legal action. What? Robert Irwin threatens to sue Pauline Hanson over a Tourism QLD video which Pauline Hanson refuses to take down off her social media accounts which features Robert Irwin, mention of the QLD government, Bluey and a multicultural group. Looks like a great cartoon video until it opens it's mouth and you start to hear what is being said on it. How dare she use Robert's image to promote the state of QLD like that . The question is will Blue sue Pauline Hanson as well. It's really is a shocking rip off Bluey video if anyone has seen it. It is an anti QLD tourism cartoon.

"VIVID FIZZLES!" " LIVID OVER VIVID!" This was the Australian news headline this morning. Organisers cancelled the drone show 20 minutes before it was due to start at 9 pm on the closing night of VIVID . I was there we only got the notification of the cancellation after it was due to start at 9 pm. There was another drone show due for 9.10 pm so I hung around but Googled the cancellation and it confirmed it was actually cancelled on their website yep it was! No one was moving in the huge crowds along the Harbour so I assumed it was just delayed and didn't move after 9 pm staying until after 9.10 pm in case it was just delayed ( I did not want to be on a train platform on my way home if it was only delayed). There was not really an explanation and because it was the last hours on the very last night of VIVID there was no rescheduling of the drone show. Last year I missed most of it this year I missed it completely.  It stopped raining but did start sprinkling in intervals but only very lightly . It wasn't even cloudy as I could see the moon crescent clearly above in the sky . There was a single drone above that hovered around and stayed there for a long time before the drone show was due to start and was still in the sky after the cancellation announcement happened so I don't understand - very disappointing as the time wasted waiting that  could have been spent walking around and seeing all of the other light installations around or even having that time to go to an alternative ticketed light installation such as Lightscape at The Botanic Gardens or even Dark Spectrum at Wynyard Park. Apparently people forked out a bit of money on dinner cruises and travelled all around Australia and overseas just to see the drone show - disappointment! The weather was not to blame and the real reason for the last minute cancellation is still unknown.

Monday 18th June 2024

My neighbour in # 7 finally returned after weeks of going " misding". He was talking to my neighbour in # 3. We were getting wortied about our neighbour # 7. When he first moved in he used to ho on house sitting stints for weeks or needed to ho to hospital for his shoulder so I wasn't wortied at first but he wasn't looking the best just before the building was sold and then he disappeared after the final inspection so zi became a lityle wortied. Now he is back and looking much better. He had been staying with friends who looked after him as he said he didn't feel like living on his own. We caught up on what happened with the sale of the building and who bought it. So I knew that the building was sold for $2.75 million - an absolute bargain to whoever purchased it, I knew the owner of the building was only a part owner, I knew the building used to be a motel and I knew it was last sold in 2016 fir over $1 million but failed to sell after that due to COVID. The neighbour in # 7 's father a real estate agent actually went to the auction apparently but he did not know what it was sold for which is a bit strange but he said an Asian couple purchased it and his father asked them what they intended to do with it and they wanted to keep it as an rental investment property.  Well we will have to see if this is actually their intention  and we are not evicted and/or if our rents will sky rocket like the rest of Sydney.

The Chinese Premier Li has announced 2 new panda diplomats due to arrive at the end of the year in Adelaide to replace Wang Wang and Funi who have failed to reproduce after 15 years on loan to Australia. The premiers visit to Australia has a more serious side to panda diplomacy, he is here to discuss relationships and trade with Australia which has improved recently. The continuation of the panada diplomacy program  is a good indication of the continued relationship between China and Australia. Contrast to the US who recently had to return their 2 pandas to China possible an indication that the relationship between China and the US has soured. Not everyone is happy with Premier Li's visit as protestors from different  pro and anti China groups protest outside Parliament House in Canberra. Although the visit was only partially sucessful , formerly detained in China in a jail for 3 years 8 months ago , journalist Cheng Li was blocked from view by 2 Chinese officials one in a brown suit and another in a blue suit. The deadline for Pauline Hanson to take down her "satrical" style cartoon featuring Irwin and Bluey by 5 pm yesterday has passed and Irwin's legal team are threatening legal action as it is seen as defaming Irwins's image as a QLD tourism campaigner. Over 2 million people viewed the cartoon which was the the purpose of it to boost the party's popularity as it decined. Hanson had told Urwin to "lighten up" and invited him to dinner. Why isn't Bluey going after Hanson? They should have already gone after her for breaching copyright laws but they haven't which means maybe Irwin should "lighten up".

The Good Food & Wine Show is starts in Sydney today and is on this weekend - I forgot all about it and said that I was unlikely to ho after going to the Melbourne one. I am still thinking about whether I should go. I don't have to go to Miguel's show as I've already seen it. Will see if I have time.

Very last day of Tafe. I have so much to do still. So tired and not well. The stress is taking it's toll. Did not wake up until 8 am this morning and have class at 10 am.

I don't think I will be able to finish this course again.

I haven't checked the stat's to this blog for a very long time and am surprised I still have readers as my concentration is mostly on my YouTube channel  . I can't even post any photos onto my blog anymore. I haven't been able to for a long time.

Thanks for reading my blogs anyway. It's mainly news headlines.

It may be the last day at Tafe but I still have to finish stuff off. There are assignments that were returned to be fixed and resubmitted but it's really difficult to see comments to incorrect answers. They want perfection . If you even get 1 true or false question wrong you need to go back to the original assessment in Word  amend it resave it as a PDF and resubmit it. Really annoying especially if it's only part of 1 question incorrect.

Some of the class members went to Chatswood to have hotpot to celebrate the end of the course. I decided not to go and neither did my 17 year old class mate. I was just too tired and allergic to go thinking of all the stuff I still have to do.

I did some work on my Twine assessment but abandoned it

I got up after midnight and watched a Rusdian romance movie. It was a goid movie although in some parts in part 2 the editing was a but choppy and the storylines did not flow.Maybe it was lost in translation or censored who knows as it was Russian or was it ? It could have been Ukrainian or Georgian. Anyway it was redubbed in English with no subtitles - this is where the one bits of the editing was bad, the mouth movements did not match the words.

So it started to rain in the early morning and continued. The forcast for the weekend is rain.

Sunday

I woke up so late this morning trying to do more of my assignments but not getting far. Can't log into the moodle therefore can't upload my assignments.  Must have tried 20 times.

It's an overcast morning and the sun is trying hard to come out . It is forecast to rain today. Top temperature is forecasted to be 15 degrees C.

SpaNova is on this weekend at the Showgrounds out at Oympic Park . It isn't on at the ICC as it is probably too small an event. Some of my teachers and class members will be going as they got discounted student tickets. Some even dressing up in Cosplay costumes. I don't get thefifference between SupaVova and Oz Comic Con which is a larger event and has been held at tge ICC in the past. I've been to an Oz Comic Con but never a SupaNova.

Because there are 3 events I wanted to go to this weekend and zi can't be at all 3 ( the 3rd is the last minute Parramatta Light Rail community open day) , I chose the Good Food and Wine Show because it was the closest location of the 3 and it was a last minute decision. Also I knew about this way before the other 2 events on this rather wet weekend.

Today I purchased a last minute ticket online to go to the last day of the Good Foid & Wine Show at ICC Darling Harbour. It is raining most of the day and I only spent around 4 hours at the Sydney Show this time round. I did not purchase as much - no show bag which was very different to the Melbourne one which I decided not to purchase. I also did not got to the 1 30 pm session of Miguel's cooking demonstration show where it looked as if he was making a paella again. No freebies on the  seats at this show not even at the egg cooking show ( which I actually didn't get to attend after feeling sick in Melbourne). I had to leave the egg cooking demonstration as it was not even cooking , it was a food writer just putting together a taco bowl and topping it with a few cooked eggs. Boring but I got tge opportunity to sit down. I grabbed some modi apples which could have ended in an apple pie as when I returned to the apartment, my neighbour had received the wrong delivery of a jumbo sized not normal sized packet of puff pastry ( he ordered ice creams but didn't receive it in his home delivery - the local super market must hate him as he keeps complaining about how many deliver mistakes he gets). Tried to take tge puff pastry and give it to my other neighbour but he would not answer his door. He was home because his TV was on really loud as usual. The pastry when I tried would not fit under his door - too thick ( this was not my idea to try and slide it under his door it was  fat boy slim downstairs who was the owner of the incorrectly delivered jumbo packet of puff pastry!) He calls my neighbour upstairs fatty so I call him fat boy slim or chicken legs!

I was up very late doing my laundry just one batch of it and I submitted my assessment for Into to unity hoping this is now 1 subject fully completed. A million more assessments to complete!

Sleep around 11 pm.

Last night I forgot to fill in my Workforce Australia online obligations so woke up at around 3 am and did it. I also sent a message on Discord to my class mate about how the play test went with the group game created for Game Design. The people he chose to test it loved it apparently but I submitted my assessment document before I received the play test and feed back so I would not forget to submit it. I have been sent a copy by Discord. I have to say it but I never thought I would re register to use Discord again as I hate it. I haven't been on chat rooms for decades. I just don't like them. maybe it's a generational thing as I was constantly on them when I was younger. You can't show emotion on chats. I sent a message to my class mate and he too it too seriously so I had to respond with only joking. Just trying to be funny but it back flipped . Oh dear may yhe alpha generation have their own language that I'm just too old to understand. So what was the message I sent to him ?  " #1 General is watching you!" in reference to our game . He responded with "Is there a problem?"  lost in interpretation or is that translation by generation Alpha(s)?

They look cheap and nasty and are sold in Coles and Woolworths in the truck loads! $4 a bar at Woolworths they are only available in milk peanut, crunch and a dark - pretty boring and limited range. Friday

Slept in this morning until almost 8 am as I was up doing my assessment. Still not finished . I haven't really mentioned in my recent blogs how my over-active immune system has been reacting. My allergies have been pretty bad as Winter approaches and due to the amount of rain we have had in Sydney this year has caused my asthma to be more severe. My battle at the moment are my eye lids and my face as well as my hands. Very dry and itchy Winter eczema which can be quite severe. Some days I can hardly open my eye lids as they puff up and itchy. My whole body and senses can be affected. Every year it can affect a different part of my body. I have had this condition my entire life seen a lot of specialists but they told me it can't be cured just controlled. Things that can set it off are environment which can't always be controlled , diet, stress . I am suppose to be using cortisone but hate using them. Being on them for most of my life has effected my skin, especially my hands where my skin is very thin. Can't imagine how my insides have been affected over the years if I can see how my outside has been affected.

Watching the presidential debate at 11 am and doing my Studio Practice assessment. Interrupted by a classmate who was harassed by my teacher to contact me. He had already contacted me by email. I didn't respond as I thought it was spam but did submit my assessment.

Back to the presidential debate - the question of age came up. OK they both answered the question but I think Biden made a blunder at the beginning of the debate.

Will you accept the results of the presidential election of course Trump has to deflect from question by extending his response to Biden's answer to war.He was asked again will you accept the result of the presidential election yes or no and again Trump did not respond but ranted on and on and then the claws came out with accusations of lieing and Trump never accepting the result of the election etc etc. Good time for an ad break

I think the 1.5 hour debate is ending soon - I could be wrong. How either of them can stand up and be still alive after that long a debate is a mystery at their age. You would think both would need a Nanna nap or toilet break but no they are still going. They are probably wearing incontinence pants!
