Sunday 5th May 2024

I'm a little concerned that Chatswood may be the next stabbing target. As you crime increases, I just witness 2 acts of teenage youth crime 1. I was shopping in one of the smaller Chemist warehouse on Chatswood mall and witness 2 teenage boys attempting to shoplift a bottle of expensive cologne.  They were yelled at by the store assistant who threatened to call the police if they did not put it back onto the shelf. The boys dumped it on one of the shelves next to me and finally left.

The second incident I witnessed was 2 older teenagers practising fare evasion by jumping over the Opal card exit barriers without tapping off an Opal card.

Both petty crimes but pretty crimes by youth can lead to more serious crimes.

Apologies to all my YouTube viewers I forgot about the new Martin Place Metro Station Community Open Day & missed it. Oops sorry! It was quite vague at the time of my booking with details and when I looked at my ticket today it looks as if I missed it.

OK  disregard the above statement , I actually made it to the Community Open Day- the station is huge and when the Metro station is connected with retail precincts and the Eastern Suburbs line @ Martin Place above,  you could get a little lost! I did today even with the station incomplete. The Station connects a North Tower and a South Tower at Martin Place linked by a long concourse which will become a retail precinct. Former full details of what the new Martin Place Metro Station will look like please refer to my videos uploaded onto my YouTube channel.

Thanks to my loyal subscribers and new ones . I have reached my tiny subscriber target of just 100 subscribers. Although this YouTube channel started around 2016, it is not meant to be a commercial channel, it is purely a hobby of mine with no monetary value or exchange. It has no ads and is purely to inform and entertain. I give honest first hand reviews of most if not all of the events and places of interest I vlog about. I don't edit because I just don't have the time like I used to when I first started my YouTube channel and I only ever use my current camera phone I have ( which is not always my latest Samsung Note or S series Ultra by the way - spot the differences). So I hope everyone will continue to watch my videos and a shout out to my little niece and nephew out there - you know who you are! Who love to stalk their aunty  on social media. Typical alpha generation.

Today I took the Metro from Chatswood to Macquarie (University Station)  Shopping Centre to return my cans and bottles for recycling - I did not want to risk taking them to the Chatswood machine as they are most likely full everyday now that there is no longer an over the counter earn and return Centre in Chatswood.

After returning my bottles and cans , it was Aldi, the green grocer then Coles. I was so loaded down with 2 full bags of groceries and tired after 4 hours of grocery shopping, I could not be bothered going to Woolworths for a final shop. It is getting more difficult to find things on my shopping list and groceries are still very expensive.

I was lucky that a bus was just pulling into the bus stop as I got to it outside the main entrance of Macquarie Shopping Centre to Chatswood. I hopped on . It is a good alternative to the back of Chatswood Station and an easy walk to the 144 bus stop . No need to walk to the Macquarie Metro Station which is minutes walk away but is deep underground down 2 sets of steep esculators with my 2 heavy loads of groceries.

Upon reaching Chatswood Station, l stopped to recharge my Opal card and there was a free family event on After Dark Glow @ Chatswood ( refer my short video uploaded onto my YouTube channel).

Arriving back to the apartment, I catch up with a neighbour and chat. I get some change in advance for the laundry ( I forgot whilst shopping to get enough).

Well the East Coast is in for a cold snap and it will only get colder as Winter approaches. Snow in some of the alpine areas, rain in Sydney ( again today), a drop in temperatures to just a top of 17 degrees C in Sydney today and it feels like 14 degrees C early this morning. I have my heater on. It is really dark and you do feel the nights getting longer and longer. It makes me feel more and more tired during the day.

Last night I was out at Chatswood with a classmate who had to return a library book and search for a rotating ring from one of the Chinese nic nak shops on the mall. The markets were on so I bought them a snack for dinner ( a small serve of karage chicken) I really wanted them to try the Japanese curry but they aren't very adventurous with the food they eat and said they didn't like cabbage so I stuck to something safe  which they described as gourmet KFC ( it sort of is but without the fatty crunch fried chicken skin layer) . Anyway they decided to head home as it was getting late and I still had to get groceries from Woolworths. I prefer Coles but had so much in my backpack I could not be bothered to walk to Coles.  My classmates are all very diverse eg have a mix of neuro typical , neuro divergent , autistic, adhd, have physical disabilities , are LGBTQ etc but all very intelligent in their own way - although most of them are under 25 and some as young as 17, I feel I fit in being the oldest student in the course by 5 years ( I should be in the Guiness Book of World Records!) I find the course challenging and I am struggling although I may not be the only one but I am trying hard.
