Got told off by customer service manager for talking to the MV rep today whilst doing stock and had just finished serving a customer on the floor. talking to her about my allergies as she had the same and understands how I feel unlike the customer service manager who didn't care a shit this morning when I told her How sick I was on my day off and how I passed out and my trip to the doctor and referral- she made it all about herself by telling me about her wait for an MRI appointment wait time

second time I spoke to me rep about what items were actually on sale or clearance customer service manager asks if " do you doubting my judgement?" I responded wwith "no" when I actually did.

Poor ticket girl doing mark downs she had lunch earlier as she finished at 4 today and was asked to work tomorrow to continue.

purchased 2 bottles of water today - why not It's free using my Myer vouchers earned and I recycle them to get 10 c back for each bottle

Customer service manager mentioned my latest 10/10 customer feed back score and the customers comment unfortunately my score has dropped another 2 % because I got another score same day of 5/10 but comment had nothing to do with my service it agasin it had to do with there was no one around to serve me! I wish customers would stop destroying my reputation.

Why has Myer ordered so many white ceramic mortar & pestle that are not goid for anything except crushing pills are they trying to attract junkies to Myer? Really a whole carton of tgem arrived! Why not attract junkies to Myer- I deliberately displayed tgem front and centre in the MV while basics display! There is a whole row of tgem double stacked on an upper shelf ( actually I put them there to hide the ugly backside of a row of white plate stands).

Asked to start earlier to morrow by customer service manager - no way!

Tuesday 25th May 2021

Have not even started my shift today at Myer from 10.30 am - 5.30 pm and I am already bombarded with whatsapp group chat messages from the customer service manager who is already publically naming and shaming all team members from Homewares and Electricals that have not watched the m casts relating to tge stocktake and stocktake sale by publishing a list of who has and who hasn't. Fortunately I have watched both and extras although I am never sure what I am suppose to be watching and I actually didn't watch them all and did not even have the sound on but if you just click and play them, then an indicator comes up to tell management that you have watched them. Yes all team members at Myer are monitored even on our days off and even when you are sick. Is this even legal? This is why I NEVER use Ipads at Myer to check my Myer Metrics as I don't want to leave any type of audit trail!

Constant text messages to check Myer Metrics even on my days off  because I haven't done so - I just checked it. 

Straight home on 280 bus to Chatswood and 144 bus home. Sleep early. Just as well as every night between 12 mid night and 3 am there is constant construction work right outside the apartment block where there is no way I can sleep as it is so loud.

Day off

Do nothing day today no venturing out.

Paid bills rent phone & inc pro.

Got a reminder message for a 3rd appointment at 2.30 pm today at the Salvation Army Employment Plus. I responded by advising them online that due to last minute work shift additions that I could not attend again. They obviously are not looking at their contact messages .

Again went to sleep early due to nightly scheduled construction work.

Did not stay up to view the super moon lunar eclipse.

Prep for work tomorrow - a whole 4.5 hours what a waste of my day! I still have so much to do.

Had planned to go to Melbourne for 2 events this week - lucky I decided not to as VIC is on the verge of yet another possible lockdown due to an recemt outbreak again.

Myer 10 am - 2.30 pm lunch cover?

First stop the post office to post a prepaid international satchel of gifts to JJ Time at the post office @ Warringah Mall.

Next onto Woolworths to recharge my Opal card with $20 at Warringah Mall.

Next to work. So busy today. I was on my own until another team member arrived at 12.45 pm today. I keep forgetting it's late-night shopping today. Poor team member ticket girl has the night shift again 5 pm - 9 pm tonight.

So what happened at work today except the petty What's App Group Chat Text Message how management is watching how many plastic bags you are selling or not selling- what's the point. Below is the text received

"Hi everyone, every team member is being checked to see how many plastic or myer bags they are selling so please be mindful of this. Obviously many customers are bringing their own bags but if in 50 transactions you are not selling any, this may be questioned."

In addition to the above text message received the team member and I were pulled aside by the customer service manager and lectured on when and how we ask customers if they would like to purchase a plastic bag. I am ignoring this lecture - as an ex team member once said we are adults not children and therefore should not be treated like a child!

I can't be told off for not logging into my Myer Metrics as I read most of the M Coms especially the one on  charging customers 15 cents per plastic bags and some VERY interesting comments were made from Myee team members around Australia. I posted a 3 question comment which was an extension of other team members questions/comments. This is a summary of my comments

1. How can I be assured that all proceeds from the sale of plastic bags is going towards the community fund ( ie and not into Myer's purse strings?)

2. I also commented on how unfair it is for customers who had already made a purchase from Myer and then make other purchases from other departments at Myer to have to purchase an extra plastic bag because their purchases no longer fit into the original plastic bag tgey had purchased. The original plastic bag can't be swapped for another larger plastic bag because I have been told it's unhygeinic- bull shit tissue paper gets returned and recycled and reused all the time and it's all scrunched up who knows where it's been with customer returns. Something is just not right with this 15 c per plastic bag policy implemented by Myer.

3. My final comment was how I have noticed that instead if decreasing the use of plastic bags more customers are purchasing plastic bags after the 15 cent charge per plastic bag was implemented from Feb 1st 2021. This does not make sense - all this save the planet by bringing and using your own bag  is a load of bullshit and contradicts with the text message monitoring team members sale of plastic bags above. Myer is just looking out for themselves not the environment. 

Team member "I want to be a team leader" was on stock today and was pushing a a ca he of stock around a new Robert Gordon display when we hear a rather large crash of either glassware or ceramicware. I call a cleaner. The customer service makes a comment "Do I really want to know what she has broken?" before msking another comment of her location. 

I had a very rude and pesky customer today. I had another customer before her who I needed to go to the reserve to retrieve a matress protector for and tgere was a this pesky customer who was taking her time stick piling a whole lot of MW T's & C's mugs which were on sale for 60% off. She told me she could not make up her mind with whether to get the red or pink ones so I said take your time as I had to pop down to the reserve for a customer to retrieve a mattress protector for her and if she minded. As soon As I came out of the lift with the mattress protector for my customer, this pesky customer came searching for me and said in an agitated voice "excuse me I just want to purchase these I dropped what I had and ran over to the counter just to serve her ( lucky my customer that wanted the mattress protector was still shopping) I process this pesky customer's pink mugs she had decided on on the P IS before she decides she didn't want them as she thought they were 60% off - I explained to her that they were as p we the amount that appeared on the OOS screen in front of her. She totally wasted my time and held up other customers behind her.

I went shopping at Coles Warringah after work and found the below new product. There are 4 flavours in the range but I settled on the 2 that I would be mostly likely eat as a real  Krispy Kreme dounut.

Rating 5/10 for the caramel delights and for the kookies & kreme 7/10. Why because they remind me of dog treats or biscuits and the caramel delight probably tasted like them as well ( not that I have ever eaten a dog biscuit!). It has a very strange caramel flavour - fake would be the description. Why do the 2 flavours taste the same? The kookies and creme flavour definitely tastes better then the caramel. The caramel biscuits are really hard whereas the kookies and creme are a little softer to bite into. Stick to the real Krispy Kreme dounuts. Not a sweet snack I would purchase again.

Friday 28th May 2021

Day off 

Did not venture out as I just had so much to do.

Fortnightly Centrelink reporting completed.

Purchased a ticket to the Sydney Good Food & Wine Show for the All day Sunday session. Keep an eye out for my blog in the future.

Booked appointment with dermatologist for the first available opening which is not until 8th July 2021. The doctor did mention I could be waiting upto a month for an appointment.

Appointment booked online to see my tax agent on 20th July 2021

Cleaned my kitchenette area including assembling my 2 new stackable front opening containers to organise and store my crockery cutlery mugs utensils and cookware. Now I have some space to prepare my meals instead of clutter.

Changed my bedding after vacuuming the floor under it and turning the mattress which I do at least weekly.

Washed my dishes.

I received a text message notifying me of the volunteer manager leaving. ( Another text message received whilst I was at work on Saturday)

Leave requests submitted and approved for my appointment with the dermatologist on 8th July and for my appointment I made online with my tax agent on 20th July to do my 2020/2021 tax return.

Prepared for work tomorrow 

Took the rubbish out.

No time to do my laundry or go for a swim.

Sleep howevee didn't manage to get much slerp as there is construction going on every morning outside the appointment between 12 midnight and 3 am. So annoying as it is so loud.

I think the guy in unit 1A has moved out as his truck is no longer parked outside and I haven't seen him however I am unsure as the washing machine looks like it has been used and the bins have been moved. If he has moved out, it means I am the only person living in the entire apartment block. A whole apartment block to myself! This never happens!

Saturday 29th May 2021

Myer 10 am - 6 pm 

I missed the bus again but still made it in time for work today.

There were 2 broken online orders received by customers returned for refund or exchange - a set of 4 S & P grey Hue mugs in the morning & a set of MW black cavier plates in the afternoon.

There was also a lady that returned a Robert Gordon Cake stand where the base just  came off.

Very busy day.

No Myer One sign ups.

So tired by 6 pm. I took the 280 bus to Chatswood and it took forever! 

I was so tired I stopped off at McDonald's and had a fillet o fish burger however with no cheese and added tomato and lettuce instead. It has been so long since I last had something from McDonald's but when there is no hot meals left at Woolworths it's quick and convenient on my way home. Talk about shrinkage - the same burger was 1/3 of the size of what I grew up with eating it was tiny!



Sunday 30th May 2021

Another sleep in and life admin day.

Finally did my laundry but did not venture out as I am still sick. My skin allergies are still really bad.

I don't get much sleep because I am itching and there is constant construction right outside the apartment block every single morning between 12 midnight and 3 am in the morning. I thought there would be a break over weekends but no the constant pounding drilling digging  flashing lights etc continues every morning.

Prep for work tomorrow.

I am pretty sure that I am the only resident left living in the apartment block now!

Tuesday 18th May 2021

Myer 10.30 - 5.30 pm service

Today is Tuesday which is the weekly "daily deal" day. Today's daily deal is Home Sweet Home 50% on Heritage items eg quilts towels sheets pillows matress and pillow protectors quilt covers etc

I was on with team member "ticket girl" again.  We didn't have any tickets to put up but we did have to take all the daily deaal tickets down at the end of today as daily deals are only valid for 1 day ie Tuesday.

It was super busy today and we both had to stay back past 5.30 pm in order to tidy up. We hardly had time to take all the tickets down. We had some pesky customers today as well to deal with and constantly running  down to the reserves to retrieve stock for our customers.

I am impressed I managed to find every single item for my customers and team member "ticket girl's except for 1 item. The customer service insisted was in the soft reserve and there was a box of them. The silk pillow cases in silver. A click and collect customer needed 2 of tgem but they were not on the dock or in the soft reserve as the customer service manager kept harking on about. It was not until I arrived home that I had a thought of where I might have seen them or where they could be - in the old click and collect reserve. I planned to look and put them out as soon as I go to work tomorrow so there would not be any more complaints as to where they were.

Because we had to stay back I missed my 280 bus back to Chatswood so had to take an alternative bus route home the first bus across the road to Manly and the connecting 144 bus home. The first bus to Manly was a mistake, it took me forever to get to Manly as it took the scenic route and I was the last and only passenger left on the bus by the time the bus arrived at Manly. 

I am so tired and arrived home around 8 pm.

Wednesday 19th May 2021

Myer 8 am - 4 pm stock but not anymore!

One of the Homewares team members called in sick this morning as I was putting out my first cage of stock. The VM manager comes up to me and advises me that the assistant store manager is trying to find a replacement but until then I am being now on service from 9.30 am when the store opens. Because I was in the middle of stock I did not bother to go to the team huddle so no day sheets. I also could not be bothered to collect the keys and ipads from the office until told to do so by the Electricals team leader ( who was also sick first day returning from his annual leave with tonsilitis and had to leave work half day) fter 9.30 am. So I was by mysrlf until 10.30 am until team member "ticket girl" arrived. It was quite busy which is usual between opening and 10.30 am.

We had a pesky customer who worked for the "opposition" David Jones come in today to pick up and pay for a few things that were posted on the what's app group chat - we were unable to find tge items and she advised us that she was coming in yesterday. Because she did not show up I think the items she had on hold were returned to the floor therefore team member "ticket girl" had to find the products again for her ( plus a few more). After the additional 4th cushion was found for her , she was suppose to come back later today but rang to say she.needed to put tge items on hold again ( someone else answered her call). In addition to her purchases she had the nerve to tell me how to process an Afterpay transaction - excuse me but not everyone had installed the Afterpay tap and go EFTPOS system yet - some people are still using the other tender scan the barcode Afterpay method so it is better to ask the customer first which method tgey are using. Customers don't have to use the Afterpay tap and go method until September 2021. This customer is using her Afterpay for the first time and did use the tap and go method installed on her phone and it worked. 

Petty posts on what's app. Somerhings should not be posted on the Whats app group chat. Things like charging customers 15 cents per plastic bag and not giving them out for free. Then there was the rather hostile response from the customer service managee manager and Homewares team leader in relation to conflicting sales and how to process them on the POS.

Today I actually signed up one customer to the  Myer One using QR code. It meant the customer actually signed up herself on her phone and all she had to do was give me her new membership number to enter into the POS for her purchase. Instant points and no contact required - much better way to reducing the spread of COVID. This time I remembered to scan the sign up bar code but had to hand write the Myer sign up on the back of the forms recording them as there was no forms for today.

I had to have lunch at 12.15 pm no choice - far too early as I usually habe it at 2 pm. If I was on stock I would be able to have it at any time but on the floor you can only have lunch when you can.

There were 2 customers who rang up today advising that their boxes of glasses were either missing glasses or had broken ones in the box because they were not checked! It sounds like the guys from Electrical again. 

I went straight home on the 280 bus to Chatswood and 144 bus home. Not feeling the best myself. Sleep early.

Thursday 20th May 2021

I am very behind in my blog as I have been working quite a bit and haven't been very well.

My allergies are getting worse and I can't seem to figure out what is causing them. 

Usually I can identify the cause quite quickly but not this time. It did start getting worse when I started working at Myer but since I started doing stock my allergies have become worse. 

So no venturing out or blogging today.

Missed a phone call from the assistant store manager at work this morning as I was still sleeping in around 9.44 am (probably to work today). I ignored it -  I can't even be sick on my days off. I had already advised the customer service manager on my way out on Tuesday that I did not want any more shifts as I needed some days off to rest. Tough luck if tgey onlly give me 2 shifts the whole week because that's all tgey could give me - I am not taking on any last minute shifts as I have missed appointments already from having to work at the last minute.

Friday 21st May 2021

Still no improvement in my allergies. It is not a very nice day outside today so not planning to venture out. 

Saturday 22nd May 2021

It's a beautiful day but I am really sick. My allergies are so bad it is painful and I thought the only way to relieve my skin was to have a hot shower. I collapsed and fainted and knocked over the kitchen bin when I came to I dragged myself to the shower and turned the cold water on. Washed my hair and dried off slavering moisturiser all over my body.

I then rested up a little caught up on my blogging and ventured out. After withdrawing some money from the ATM, I found the closest doctor to make an appointment to see them but I could only see a doctor after 2 pm and there could be a wait.

Still feeling so allergic and in pain - my body feels like it is turning to stone stiff and painful as it is constantly drying out no matter how much moisturiser I am constantly applying. My eyes are watery and the skin around it so dry. Nothing is helping (- antihistamines cortesone etc). My entire body is covered in a rash. I sit in the sun and have some lunch at Chatswood Concourse. I still need to get laundry money groceries and probably some drugs after my doctors appointment.

Sitting in the sun is not providing any relief. I am still in pain but I am wondering what these black and white inflatable sculptures are. It's too early for VIVID this year so what are they for?



2 pm and I return to wait to see a doctor. It was quite a wait and as soon as I saw the doctor it was a 5 minute consultation and urgent referral to see a dermatologist which I had to wait until Monday to try and book an appointment gor. I was advised that it could take a month to get an appointment. If it was some other specialist I had to see I would probably be dead before I could get an appointment. If it takes a month then I will just have to be patient. I just hope my skin is not as painful and I don't have another black out episode again from having a shower to try to relieve my skin. That was scary.

After my doctors appointment I got my haircut to minimise irritation to the skin on my neck shoulders and back. 

Then it was as trip to the pharmacy to fill my poerscription which totalled almost $100 including some shower oil and moisturisers. Then a grocery shop as I haven't been eating properly or much.

Home and rest. I believe after putting on the strong cortesone ointment, I was able to sleep a little better.

Sunday 23rd May 2021

Last night I managed to stay up late and sleep better because I watched p art 2 of the Eurovision Song Contest. Then got up and watch the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on SBS. I casn't believe Italy won this year with a heavy metal song - not my cup of tea. I felt totally cheated - the competition is rigged! By the way it is the EuroAussievision Song Contest although Australia did not make it this year into the finals. Joel Cresey was the Australian representative to announce live which country Australia gave their votes to.

I am a little better today but had so much to catch up on I forgot about going to the Home Show at Darling Harbour that I had purchased a ticket for in advance for the 2 pm - 6 pm session.

Today I spent most of the day cleaning washing laundry to ensure I minimised any dust mites or other allergens. There was an awful lot of vacuuming as well. Thank goodsness I only have tiled floors and not carpet.

In the afternoon I ventured out to get some groceries to prepare tomorrow's lunch and prepare for work. My body was walking in the wrong direction to the train platform travelling towards the city but my plan was to travel in the opposite direction on the Metro to Macquarie Shopping Centre. I reached the shopping centre and first thing was to have something to eat -  rice paper rolls with vegetarian  nucam sauce from Roll'd. It has been so long since I last ate from this place. I have never had nucam sauce before. The 2 rice paper rolls I had were tofu & barramundi. Nice but not cheap. After that it was a trip to Daiso then to Coles before heading home via Woolworths Metro. 

Home to prepare lunch for tomorrow.

Monday 10th - Sunday 16th May 2021 Week 59 Of Underemployment & Plans Scrapped Due To Last Minute Shift Changes On Kronos

Monday 10th May 2021

I slept in again today until around 7 am and watched the morning news.

I paid half of one bill not quite due yet but paid in advance of due date in the event I don't have time to pay it on it's due date.

Well what do you know my blog crashed and I just saved what I had just written before it crashed.

So today was a pretty boring life admin day again. There is only me and one other person living in the apartmentt block now. The guy across on the other side of the second floor just moved out ( hopefully there will be no more sweeping of hair out and over the hallway down to the ground floor entrance now). I have the entire second floor of the apartment block to myself and the guy downstairs has the entire ground floor of the apartment block to himself. It is so quiet here nobody would know that you lived here. I could be wring as there maybe one other person on the other side of the second floor that I have never seen enter or leave his apartment and the blind is always down. 

Anyway I went for a swim at around lunchtime at Lane Cove Aquatic Centre again and this time got to take a dip in the other kids pool next to the indoor 25 m pool. The outdoor 50 m pool is now only open limited hours in the mornings and afternoons so it was closed when I arrived. Too cold anyway to swim in it. The 25 m pool I was told was around 26 degrees C. The kids pool next to it is a warm 32 degrees C I was told which was a little too warm I thought althought the first time I entered it I thought it was much colder then as I walked to the deep end which was only 1 m I could feel the water temperature rising. I get out. The other kids pool which I like to paddle in with it's water features is about 1 m at the deep circular end and is around 29 degrees C. I spend time in it before plunging into the 25 m pool where I spend most of my time exercising in. I give the32 degree C kids pool another go after my 45 min session in the 25 m to relax my muscles before taking a shower and changing out of my wet swim gear before heading to Woolworths for a grocery shop for the essentials and getting some laundry money.

Home to prepare for work over the next 5 days. No days off. I may have escaped scan count tomorrow but my day off on Wednesday after checking Kronos today is no longer. I had an  appointment on that day off too and had to cancel and notify the organisation that I could not attend a second time due to work. It sucks being a casual!

Thanks to everyone reading my old blogs. There is not much I can blog about at the moment except for work unfortunately. I would love to be able to go and see interesting things and blog about them like I used to in the past but I currently can't. I can't even book an appointment or register to get the COVID vaccination (not that I am in a hurry to due to my severe allergies). I have to be careful what medications I put into my system  I need to inquire how I can get the pfizer rather then astrazenica vaccine even if I am over 50 years old just.

Tuesday 11th May 2021

Myer 9.30 am - 5 .30 pm service. Not anymore - this original shift added to 30th April 2021 was changed at the last minute on 11th May to 10 am - 5.30 pm. So glad as I need a sleep in. Why do I have so many shifts this week? It means I have none for the following week! So true looking at Kronos for the following week.

Today is small electrical appliances scan count and I escaped it for once! I wasn't the only team member to escape this scan count - team member "I want to be a team leader" did as well. However team member "ticket girl didn't". When she saw us finishing our shift at 5.30 pm today and leaving through the staff entrance/exit while she was on a break and having to  stay back she yelled out " traitors!" to us. Hey it's not our fault who escapes scan count and who doesn't - It's up to the managers. I have an extra shift tomorrow and didn't want it as I had an appointment at 2.30 pm - 3.00 pm tomorrow at Salvation Army Employment Plus Chatswood ( I did contact them to say I was unable to attend again as soon as the new shift appeared on Kronos).

So we had so many pesky customers. One wanted a price match on Sheridan towels after the Sheridan rep had left because DJ's and the Sheridan store both had a 40% sale on while Myer was only offerring a 30% sale on selected Sheridan towelling. The final decision was unfortunately a no from the customer service manager as it is Sheridan not Myer who dictates which stores offer which sales. The customer was quite unhappy with this decision but still purchased the towelling as she wanted the Myer One points from the purchase.

I asked every customer if they wanted to join Myer One if they were not already a member and none of them wanted to. I did start to ask for the rounding up of purchases to donate to the local community charity of education on domestic violence  ( still unconvinced about these charity donations from Myer though). Most customers were happy to donate. Too bad about the reduction of plastic bags purchased - it seems charging an extra 15 cent per bag is actually encouraging the use of more plastic bags  instead of decreasing them.

There was another pesky customer and her partner in crime who wanted my attention for a very long period of time but had no intention to buy today therefore to get rid of them I allowed them to hold their purchases until Thursday to give me time to find the 2 matress protectors they wanted in the reserve and so I could serve the queue of customers waiting to be served behind them. I hate it when customers waste my time - I lose sales and customers become unhappy.

Brand partner t shirt offers were not loaded onto the POS again so I had to do 2 manual item discounts today. Even the team member in Menswear was not aware of it. There was no brand partner offer sheet or day sheet at the Homewares counter.

So many pesky customers today I was so tired I needed to go straight home and sleep. I did not get home until 8 pm as I catch the 6.10 pm bus to Chatswood  then 144 home. The bus before it must not have shown up as there were so many people waiting for the 280 bus. I also missed the 144 bus at Chatswood as the volunteer manager texted me to ask about my contact reporting for Quarter 1 Jan - Mar 2021. No time to do it texting her back that I will submit it when I get time.

Lunch was after 1 pm I think or was that after 2 pm today? Can't even remember because it is so busy for a Tuesday.

By the end of the day the team leader was "knackered and bought herself a bag of Darrell Lea Jaffa Balls ( milk chocolate balls  coated in a hard orange shell) as she needed sugar. The customer service manager was present on the other side of the Homewares counter when the team leader opened her packet of Jaffa balls with force as if she could not wait to put one in her mouth but as she opened the packet most of them ended up on the floor and she probably only ended up with less then a third of the packet left. I yelled out " Are you two ok over There?!" Let's hope she didn't pick them up off the floor and eat them! Would have been a great one for the Tic Toks!


Wednesday 12th May 2021

Day off. Not anymore New shift added to Kronos at the last minute on Monday 11th May to work today10.30 am - 5.30 pm which means I had to miss my 2nd appointment at 2.30 pm today at the Salvation Army Employment Plus Chatswood.  The appointent was changed at the very last minute this morning received by a text message advising the appointment had been changed to 2 pm instead. Either way I had already advised them in writing that I could not attend in advance of this. At least my appointment was not as important as team member "ticket girl's" appointment. She thought she was having the day off as well ( well deserved as she did not finish the scan count until 10 pm last night) but she was also called in to work from 10.30 am - 5.30 pm today. Apparently according to team member " I want to be a team leader" who knows all the Myer gossip somehow, one of the guys in Electrical is sick as he has lost his voice and the other is just being "flakey" not turning up to shifts

Today VM team member Chelsea told me that I may have served her husband over the weekend on Saturday. She was pretty sure I did as she had asked the other Asian team member from Electricals if she had served him on Saturday the day before Mothers Day and she had not. He purchased a Mermaid hair curler for Mother's Day for her. I knew Chelsea had told me that she  had requested one and didn't think she would get one. I hope her husband selected the right one. It's the thought that counts.

I volunteered to give it ago in Electricals today - working in Electricals is not fun! The first customer I had was a lady that rang up the Electricals department and wanted to return an iron she purchased online for a refund.  After advising her that she could return it for a refund online then look at an alternative model better suited to her needs instore, the story does not end there. She had used her "frequent flyer points" to purchase it online hence a refnd of points was not actually possible and advised her that she would only receive a Myer gift/return card as a refund. The customer was not happy with this but it is a policy all online purchases are refunded online and not through the stores' POS systems. But the story does not end there either, after asking her if she had used it and whether it was faulty,  she advised that she had used it however found there was nothing wrong with it only that it was too heavy for her therefore she wanted to return it  for a refund. I explained to her because it was not faulty and she had used the iron she was not entitled to a refund as no returns for change of mind of used products. To find out what I could do for the customer I place her on hold and asked the customer sevice manager. The customer service manager was having lunch with 2 other managers from downstairs in the cafe advised me to advise ( and not advise to do ie not buy cheap products) the customer to do ring customer service online or contact Braun.

This blog is incomplete as my blog crashed again. Everytime I write something truthful but negative about Myer, my blog crashes and I just lost at least 1 paragraph of this blog. I am starting again.

One load of laundry done 

I stayed back with team member ticket girl to catch up with ex Christmas casual team member until 6 pm. We talked about everything including possibly going to SuperNova out at Sydney Olympic Park Showgrounds. 

I sold a santoku knife & Furi cutting board which was my first sale of the day but gave my sale to  a team member in Electricals  after helping the customer aa I 

really busy. 

on stock all day did not get much done. Customers approaching me for help all day including the operations manager with a customer looking for a deli slicer.


Friday 14th May 2021

VM stock team member return to menswear with CB & Chelea on leave today

Tickets up. Search for 5 triple stands only to find 2 in a cage on ground floor fittings & fixtures area and 1 loose one I dragged into the goods lift onto the landing of dock. Making sure I put a reserved for Homewares sign on it.

Got in trouble for not calling a manager on duty when computer froze on me in kids wear whilst I was doing a price check for a customer. Locked me out in Kidswear but I was still able to log on in Homewares.

Phone order from Myer Blacktown for customer we tried to ring 4 times with number given. Turns out incorrect poroduct/ number given and gave customer closest store to her that had the product she was actually after cup/saucers with gold rim not 4 mugs & side plates. 

Allergies extremely bad now causing me pain as my skin is so dry and cracked.

I paid a few more bills due today. Watched some tv and caught up on my blogging.

Why does Spaghetti Bolognese always taste better as leftovers  and freshly made?

It was a really nice day today and I ventured out today again for another swim at Lane Cove Acquatic Centre. Don't know if the chlorine is doing my skin any good but the exercise is probably doing my body good.


After my swim I did anotger grocery shop but went to all 3 supermarkets Woolworths Aldi & Coles in Lane Cove to seek out what I needed. I could not find quite a few items on my grocery list again and Woolwirths had most of the toiletry items I needed on special. I also went to Priceline which did not have what I needed and was the most expensive if they did have tge toilktry product I needed.

So tired I went to bed after unpacking all my grocery items. I forgot the toilet paper but that's OK as I always have spares. With 2 full bags to carry and my backpack it took me longer then usual to walk home. I could have crossed the road and caught a bus from Lane Cove but extra exercise never hurt anyone. It was dark by the time I arrived home. Sleep.

What a dark wet day today turned out to be. I was going to venture out but will leave it for another day. Sleeping in laying in bed watching tv and catching up on my blog as well as doing laundry and cooking and preparing for work tomorrow seem like good rainy day activities to do today.

I did my laundry but everything still has a wet feel about it after drying. I think I need to turn the fan on.

I didn't mention besides preparing a fruit salad I baked a brownie. I think the recipe I followed used too many eggs as the texture is not like the ones I am used to. I did not bake it long enough as well so had to do a second bake as the brownie was still raw in the middle. Tastes great still.

Myer  10.30  am - 5.30 pm service

It's still wet today. Last night I slept a full 8 hours for once. 

I  wonder what will happen at work today. Hopefully no incidents and accidents.

Not much hapoened today. Customers to serve, stock to be moved around - customer service manager asked me to get the cage of karki quilt covers and swap the displays around so the quilt sets matched the bed display and same with the "banana bed" display. 

No Myer One sign ups - I asked every customer if tgey wanted to join if they were not a member and they all said no. 

Not as many plastic bags sold today and I did not bother to ask for round up of purchases to donate to charity as I am still unconvinced about whether the proceeds are actually going to the specified charities and not into Myer's purse.

A couple of shoplifters caught red handed today - one operator 22 caught in cosmetics where he purchased one fragrance but apoarently shoplifters another one for himself.  I actualky served the customer who caught him shoplifting and she told me all about it after the incident. The other shop lifter waa caught by a team member from Mensware who had tried to run off after removing the security hard tag pinned inside a sheet set. The police were not notified however the operations manager was. I suspect this shop lifter had visited Myer previously as it was described he was with a mother with kids in a stroller. They may not have been together as a family but the femalle probably knew about it.

One customer I served was over charged for a men's merino jumper the day before so I had to consult the customer service manager about it. It turned out that according to the customer's receipt they purchased the jumper before 3 pm however they insisted the sale sign was already up when usually sale signs for the following day only go up after 4 pm the previous day therefore it was decided that we would honour the customer's purchase. I refunded the original amount they paid and reprocessed the purchase at the sale price instead doing an exchange and using the promo not loaded as the the sale price now came up automatically on the POS. Customer now happy.

Another customer returned 2 separate orders  processed by 2 separate team members - the team leader processed an order of 2 items that were paid for on the POS system. Normally the policy with manchester is no return no refund no exchange due to NSW Health Regulations. The customer insisted she was told that she could as long as they were not out of the packet. The items she purchased weren't even sold at Myer Warringah therefore had to be labelled and returned to the distribution centre. Refund was done on the POS system. The other larger return was a an in-store purchase and I did a refund for this return on the POS which was quite a few hundred dollars worth of Manchester returned. I would not have allowed a refund myself but the customer service manager allowed it as the customer was told she could return it all. The customer manager asked me after the refund why the customer wanted to return so much manchester and how much the refund was. I advised her of the refund amount and the reason given was the customer liked it but her daughter didn't hence the return. The customer srrvice manager makes the following comments "Why would you buy so much manchester? Why wiuld you be buying manchester for your dsughter ? and Why didn't she just buy the pillow cases before deciding which ones her daughter liked?" Well maybe she didn't want to risk not being able to get a complete set -  eg when items go on sale especially clearance it usually means they are the last ofs so a sheet set be available but there are absolutely no matching pillow cases or quilt sets available nationally and there is no reruns of them. Customer hopefully satisfied with refund in accordance with what she kept and promotion/sale on at the time.

Third customer was owed an apology and hopoefully she was satisfied with the resolution of her purchase. Oh dear firstly she was what originally overcharged when on closer insp ection it was the incorrect product that was on sale - 50 cm fitted sheet not on sale &  40 cm fitted sheet on sale both the same product white Vue sheet set in a king size. The customer picked up a 50 cm sheet set instead of the 40 cm sheet  set. The second problem was there were 2 security tags inside the sheet set which had not been removed with one of them hidden deep inside the sheet set. The third issue was the inside security tag actualky caused a rip in the flat sheet. So the resolution was 1. Refund the money for the incorrect sheet set with the reason for return/refund as faulty. 2. the flat sheet ended up being given to vm  ( note left on it ) to use on the bed dispkays instead of opening up new stock. The balance of the sheet set of 2 pillows and fitted sheet was marked diwn to 50% off original price with a note missing flat sheet & put back on the shelf ( makes sense as there are customers who don't want the flat sheet) 3. Finally the correct sheet set of a Vue white king sized 40 cm on sale was found a nd put through for the customer. Hopefully the customer was satisfied. 

Lunch was around 1.15 pm- a little late due to customers. I wasn't really hungry after going to a lot of effort to make my lunch of an Asian noodle salad and a chocolate brownie. I had lunch with the VM team member the customer service manager and Homewares team leader mistakenly call "Chelsea" - I asked her How did they get Chelsea? I know managers are not really good with names as they can't get my name right at all! I said to this VM team member that my theory was "Chelsea" is a combination of the shorten version of my name and the shorten version of her name! Makes logical sense when you think about it. Only if you are completely dyslexic!

Final bit of scandal - I went to the dock and spotted an Electricals team member on stock again and he had what looked like 2 black eyes and stitches under one eye. I was shocked - "What happened to you?"  I asked him? He said that he had a little "misunderstanding" but other team members have heard other stories such as he accidently walked into a door. Unconvincing. I did not probe further though.

I had to return about 6 ipads - where did they all come from and sign them all back in and put them all back into the charging station. 

5.30 pm finish today and dead tired waited forever for the 280 bus back to Chatswood then 144 home. No stopping off except for a toilet stop, water  and laundry money.

Home to put laundry into the dryer and taker the overflowing rubbish out. I can stay up a little later tonight as I have a day off tomorrow.

Lunch is prepared for tomorrow. 

Nothing to do today. No venturing out. Too afraid to and just as well it is a full wet day today.

Latest news today is not another crack lockdown in greater NSW but COVID restrictions are in place again. Masks are mandatory on public transport and in enclosed areas again. Visitor limits are in place again and no singing or dancing except at weddings with 20 people limits on dance floor at a time all due to a locally acquired case of COVID x 2.  How did a man in his 50's and his wife become COVID positive when he has never travelled overseas, is not  a returning traveller, has not been in quarantine or work in hotel quarantine? The theory is that he visited an optometrist on the ground floor below a hotel quarantine.  Problem is he is an Eastern suburbs resident who had travelled around the greater Sydney regions North South East & West visiting numerous venues.  What did I say and I will repeat it again - EVERYONE WEAR A MASK WHEN YOU ARE OUT & ABOUT WE CAN'T BE COMPLACENT COVID IS STILL ALIVE & WELL!!!!!!

Myer 8 am - 4 pm stock

It is still really wet outside today and I have a bit of a mould problem in the apartment. I tried to dry out my apartment by turning on the ceiling fan but it made it worse.

Had to still get up at 5 am and get to work on time today. Luckily I had prepared my lunch yesterday. 

So masks are once again manatory on public transport and in enclosed areas until Monday.

Apologies for not blogging but it has been quite busy at Myer and by Saturday night I was dead tired!

I may have been rostered on stock duties today but when the customer service manager is not on and the team leader is , she almost always uses her common sense and asks me if I could do the lunch cover or help out if it gets too busy or there is no lunch cover rostered on. Today it was both as it is Mother's day on Sunday and as I described it to any customers who ask me "Has it been busy?" My response to them is "It's like Christmas!" with constant queues of people at the counter. It's Mother's day not the monthly Super Weekend which is next weekend! ( yes I am working on that Saturday  and I wish I wasn't as the Sydney Living Museum's Autumn  Harvest Festival is on at Rouse Hill Estate ( House & Farm). I like to go to this and the Spring Festival out at Elizabeth Farm whenever it is on and don't have any other events to attend or places of interest to visit that clash with these annual events.

So many customer issues whilst the team leader went to lunch. Team member "ticket girl" had a customer who purchased a whole heap of towels and a sheet set. There was a buy 2 towels sheets quilt sets etc and get 30 % off. Problem was the individusl bedding offer of 40% gets overridden by the buy 2 get 30% off so we both agreed that the only way the customer would get the correct discounts for her purchases was to split her purchases and do 2 individual transactions. Such a hassle. My customer could not remember her pin when she wanted to purchase a set of blue Sheridan towels on sale. She tried twice and the pin was incorrect. She wanted to try a third time but I stopped her informing her that she would be locked out of her account if she did so. She left it at that to go to her bank and I left her purchase on the back counter advising the team leader what had happened and how the customer will be back. Another customer had a stack of Coles Myer gift cards to use to pay for her purchases ( not another one remember Bingo customer in a previous blog of mine) ranging from $10 each as well as an $18 one and an $8 one ( weird demoninations) which held up the queue of customers. I am sure there were other complicated customer transactions but I can't remember what they were. 

Lunch was over in an hour for the team leader who went to lunch with another team member from Menswear for his birthday. I was back to stock duties and only managed to get 4 cages worth of stock out onto the floor today instead of my usual 8 or 9 cages. 

Serving customers is not the only reason I din't get as much done today. There has been a lot of slack staff on stock duties lately. Dumping stock onto the floor and over filling cages full of stock  that is poorly stacked and unstable risking it all falling out of the cages even before I get through the doors from the dock onto the floor. Each cage I took out onto the floor had products from every possible section mixed up in them intead of categorising them which makes my merchandising more difficult. On top of that the cookware section looked like a dumping ground or the reserves rather then a selling floor where it was impossible for customers to see what products were available and where to find them.

I spent a lot of time cleaning up shelves and displays in the cookware section before restocking and restoring some form of order and visual appeal to them.

The customer service manager had advised me to take photos of stock that looks as if it had been dumped so I did. I advised her on Saturday but she already knew about it. It hapoened before Thursday apparently.

I left a bit after 4 pm. End of another shift. 

Saturday 8th May 2021

Myer 9.15 am - 3.30 pm . Not anymore shift changed to 9.15 am - 6 pm today. Service? Stock? 

Service all day. So much stuff to do and so busy - it's like Christmas and it's only Mothers Day tomorrow.

So what happened today at work. 

Besides being realky busy team member ticket girl only did a half shift because she plays hockey. The second half of the shift was with team member I want to be a team leader. Boy did we have a stack of tickets to put up after 4 pm. It was 5.30 pm and team member I want To be a team leader thought we closed at 5.30 pm today. No we close at 6 pm. She says to me "It's almost 5.30 pm why hasn't anyone announced that the store is about to close?" She forgot that Myer closes at 6 pm as it is Saturday - oh well at least we got all the sale tickets up in advance before closing.

Today a customer purchased almost $1000 worth of Sheridan towels. It took 3 team members to complete her transaction due to a price match where th the Sheridan store and David Jones both had the towels on sale for 40% whereas Myer was only offering a 30% sale therefore each item had to be individually price overrode then item discounted. There were 30 different towels handtowels face washers bath sheets and bath mats purchased therefore I got the Electricals team leader to process the sale then I organised the batching of 3 bags with each colour in each bag  and organised a shop & drop for tge customer so tgey could go and have tgeir poedicure and come back to pick up their purchases instead of having to lug them around with them., whilst the Sheridan rep for the day gathered all the items for the customer. I gave them the 3 large plastic bags for free which was the least I could do for them as it was such a lkarge purchase. The customer paid in full with a gift catd. It took the customer forever to pay as she had to find her Myer One number and gift card on her phone ( I didn't say anything but I was getting a little annoyed with her as she was taking too long to finalise the payment of her purchases and holding up a queue of customers waiting to be served behind her).

Customers tgat finalise their purchases before deciding on another purchase becaause they want to get the buy 2 get a discount should be shot. Yep I had one of these today. I was not going to refund her purchase and reprocess it as there are other customers waiting. I wasn't even sure if there was a discount on the item to be purchased.

I had a custoner who wanted to return a Navy heritage sheet set which she claimed was faulty as it pilled on first wash. She claimed she got it as a gift and had no receipt nor did she have a Myer One app on her phone which would have kept a copy of her receipt. I said tgat if she didn't have a receipt I would have to call a manager to get authorisation. Unfortunately the manager was busy serving and advised the customer that she would have to wait. After I went to lunch ( finally at almost 3 pm instead of the scheduled 2.30 pm) the customer did actually have a receipt on her Myer One app. A refund was issued to the customer.

A customer wanted to send 2 purchases made to Valet- Usually you just call Valet give them the customers valet number on their vasl at card and tgey come and pick the purchase up. Not at Myer - you need to get all the details off the customer enter them under other instead of parcel pick up or shop and drop then take it downstairs to The Hub - unsure whether I had to call Valet or the Hub does.

Poor team ticket girl had a customer who wasnted to return a faulty dinner set and exchange it for same dinner set as well as something else as well as p ay for it with a Westfield gift card which just did not work with an added price match as original purchase price. The customer was told to check with Westfield concierge as to why the catd did not work. The dinner sets were kept on the back counter for their return. Again the customer service manager was involved and after team member ticket girl had left the team member from downstairs served this customer however the customer srrvice manager was involved again as the card still did not work. In the end the purchase was finally completed and resolved although not to the outcome of the customer. The faulty dinnerset's remaining plates were taken out of the box and labelled/priced to be sold individually with the other individual plates that are the same.

Such a long day and by the time I had my lunch I was not hungry really so took a walk around the mall.

Other duties today emptying clearance bedding onto a tressle table and directing a new  person performing stock duties today. ( yes on a Saturday).

Very long day for me. So tired. 6 pm home on the next 280 bus to Chatswood and 144 bus. It was dark so I didn't want to catch the B line to spit Junction and wait for a 144 bus home in the opposite direction.

Day off

It's after 9 am and I am trying to sleep in after the last 2 really busy days at work.

I forgot to get a Mother's day card to send to the aged care resident I am writing to as my volunteering. Oops. I might ring her but I should send her a card whether home made or purchased. Damn it. 

Done I found a very old 3D piece of stationery from my collection with roses on it and in a clear envelope so am sending that to her.

Next I am getting message on the What's App group chat as to who hasn't asked for donations or watched the m cast on the Future Direction of  Homewares. Watched. For f**k sake It's my day off.

Cooking cleaning ( vacuum and trying to rid mould) wash dishes and changed sheets. Everything I need to catch up on . 

No venturing out today. COVID restrictions still in place now extended another full week. Masks no longer required in retail but still compulsory on public transport and other places of  indoor entertainment.

Sleep. Another day off tomorrow. I definitely need it.
