Tonight I am heading to my first VIVID precinct Darling Harbour. On my way back home I will stop off and see the rest of Chatswood when it is all lit up.
This year the following is a list of the VIVID light precincts and the number of interactive light installations to visit at each precinct. VIVID is on from Friday 24th May -
Saturday 15th June 2019
Chatswood (18) almost done!
Photos below and I have already uploaded a video of my favourite interactive light installation of the Trumpet Flowers. Rating 9/10 for that particular light and sound installation however for the whole of Chatswood as a VIVID precinct I only give it a Rating 6/10. Returning to Chatswood after Darling Harbour I was unable to find at least one light installation and did not manage to watch all of the projections on The Concourse buildings as almost half of the light installations were projections. I managed to watch 2 of the shorter ones and I have to say they were not that interesting. I am sure there was quite a lot of work behind the scenes to put them together but they were more repetitions of graphic patterns then animated projections with a storyline or message. Will have to return one night to find and watch the rest of Chatswood's light installations.

Darling Harbour (12) done!
photos below and video already upoaded onto YouTube. Rating 8/10. Favourite was laser light show with first fireworks display at 7.40 pm. View from Pyrmont Bridge was ok but too distant and no soundtrack. Worst view was sitting in front of huge robotic sculpture. Recommended view sitting or standing either side of Darling Harbour Wharf either Cockle Bay or Pyrmont Bay side but not as far as either side of Pyrmont Bridge. If you want to see the Blacklight Dessert Lab get there early queues were long when I arrived after 8 pm and they had run out of poison mushrooms and mango tea - the other 2 desserts had heaps of dairy in them so I could not purchase either of them to try. Glow In The Dark Desserts and bubble teas cost $8 - $12. Rating : 5/10 rip off and disappointing, I would rather go to a proper dessert bar such as Koi where desserts don't have to look like Chernobyl! Inclusive interactive playround at Tumberlong Park - lots of fun for kids but my favourite light display was just outside of Tumberlong Park Florescentia Rating 8/10.
