Day Off

Well today I did venture out but not until after the Superbowl half time entertainment. Yeh it was pretty ordinary and at 21 to 6 , there was a clear winning team so I decided to go shopping but only made it as far as Chatswood Chase.

I was going to go for a skate but both sessions were smack bang in the middle of the Superbowl. I still could have made it to the 3 -5 pm session but I still had to do my laundry so I would have something to wear tomorrow to work.

Let's talk about Superbowl commercials which cost a tidy $5.5 million for a 30 second commercial cheap considering it cost over $6 million last year pre COVID.

Some of these commercials were really good , others were questionable - maybe you have to be American to understand them. My favourite commercials were Cheetos featuring Shaggy, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis It wasn't me; the Cadillac car with Scissorhands free featuring Winona Ryder ; The Night Before Superbowl Frito Lays Chips; Tide laundry detergent featuring Jason Alexander's face and General Motors We're Coming Norway featuring Will Farrell.

There was one commercial which was debatable as to whether it was a commercial actually made for the superbowl just a few weeks ago. It was the Turbo Tax Dance Workout advertisement . One of the team members from VM was actually an extra in it and he thought it was originally but told me it actually wasn't. He had taken some days off work to participate in the advertisement as an extra a few weeks ago - it was filmed a day after his PPE photo shoot that he had booked to do. Another VM team member and I joked about how we thought he should have been the aerobic instructor in it but instead we both agreed that we could not even see him in the commercial as everyone in the class as extras were blurred out or cut off the screen. When he pointed himself out in the ad - I thought that it didn't even look like him and what was he wearing?! This ad is on YouTube to watch.

Onto my shopping adventures. Before I actually went grocery shopping, I had a look around Chatswood. The Lunar New Year is upon us and it's the Year of the Ox. Chatswood having a high Asian population usually has it's annual festivities to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Walking around Chatswood there are decorations of wishing trees , red lanterns and art installations everywhere.

I missed the Golden Markets last Thursday Friday and Saturday (6th February) but there are still plenty of other things to see and do.

There are a series of art installations. I have only managed to find 2 of them and plan to see a 3rd one which is a bus ride away at the Incinerator Gallery in Willoughby ( refer previous blog of location) at a later date. Photos below.

I walked down to the other end of Chatswood to shop at Coles Chatswood Chase  but could not find the art installation Tenacity there as indicated on the signage above as one of the art installations. Maybe it's not inside the Chase. I did have a good look on the floors above where art installations usually are in one of the side arms of the shopping mall. Nope nothing. Usually there is signage of what's on inside Chatswood Chase but I did not see anything not even any Luna New Year decorations at entrance to the mall.

Onto some more product reviews. Every now and then Coles give out loyalty card members free products to try. I have received quite a few of these mostly beverages. In the past this has included tubs of yoghart  & bottles of probotic drinks. This week's free product to try was LoBros Organic Kombucha. I will rate this a 6/10. I don't drink cola but chose this flavour over the aother flavours available - passionfruit, lemon lime & bitters, ginger beer, ginger & lemon as every man and his dog is producing kombucha in the same range of flavours. Cola Kombucha sounds a little bit unique but did it taste like cola?  I can't stand the amount of sugar and nasty ingredients in cola - most of it artifical. The only "cola" substitute I drink is chai tea as it reminds me of the taste of cola without all the artifical ingredients and sugar. This LoBros cola kombucha did have a slight cola taste probably created from similar ingredients in chai tea. What I wasn't keen on was the sweetener in it -  stevia which I am not a fan of. Because everyone is making some sort of flavoured kombucha,  there is a lot of competition on the market. This brand of Kombucha did not really stand out to me and was very similar to all the other kombuchas on the market - most of which I have tried.

Home on the bus and laundry done. Preparation of lunch for a very long afternoon/night tomorrow.

Sleep around 10 pm.

Tuesday 9th February 2021

Myer 12 noon - 9 pm Scan Count . Original shift added to Kronos 21st January 2021. No changes to shift as at 7th February 2021.

Scan count is now over thank goodness! So tired thirsty and hungry but it's another 2 hours until I get home. On the B line now on my way to Neutral Bay Junction for as connecting 144 bus home. I get off at Spit Junction and it is a 15 minute wait until the next connecting 144. Home by 10 pm - quickest trip home only an hour when usually it takes me between  1.5 and  2 hours.

I think I must have drained 4 scanning guns today with all the scanning I did. The first scanning gun was the gun that caused me so much trouble. I sucessfully scanned the first fixture's barcode and finished scanning all the items on it before closing it off however the scanning gun would not allow me to scan the next fixture's barcode ( fixture invalid or undefined message apoearing with the equivalent of the blue screen of death on a computer except it was an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle like this ⚠️ appearing on the scanning gun which we were told to look out for )  and told me that the fixture had already been scanned. Not possible as I had just started. I called the customer service manager over and she did not believe me and told me to call the operations manager. I think this must have happened 3 times on the same fixture and it was only on the 3rd call to the operations manager that the customer service manager took away my gun to trouble shoot. Leaving me with nothing to do. I was told to go down to the hard reserve and take the crockery out of the boxes to make it easier for the scanners down there to scan count. They all left one by one to go on their break. What was I suppose to do? How long did I have to wait for a new scanner gun? I was left on my own to take the rubbish out to the compactor on the dock.

It pissed me off that I couldn't get another scanning gun after that one was taken off me to be trouble shot. I spent about an hour of time wasted down in the hard reserve taking stuff out off boxes for everyone else that was scanning. I was not going to do this all night it was a total waste of my time and defeated the purpose of me coming all the way to work just to do a scan count. How did some team members get out of scan count altogether and others gets to do more interesting stuff like checking and investigation?. One team member ( the ditzy one)  got out of scanning and was just allocated the task of checking for a few hours after she finished her shift on the floor. Why couldn't I do that until I got a new scanning gun? She later told me that there was no one to train her on how to use the scanning gun so she was allocated the task of checking. I think she mentioned it was poretty unexciting. Team member "ticket girl" was allocated investigations duties tomorrow - why wasn't I asked to do this? Instead I am doing stock for the next 2 weeks almost every day!!! My poor body.

When the team members down in the hard reserve went to lunch one of them from the online team told me maybe I could take their  scanning guns once they sign it back in. I didn't even think about this - great idea just help myself to a scanning gun that is available and fully charged - don't wait for the customer service manager who was running around like chook that had just had it's head cut off!

So much for me being allocated the job of scanning the cutlery and bags using the multiplier function. It never happened. I think the bags ended up being scanned by team member "ticket girl" with the customer service manager and the bags on the floor were being scanned by a team member from VM individually.

The poor young team member down in hard reserves was sitting there tipping out every single box of cutlery,  that I had precounted and labelled, individually scanning each piece in each box - there must have been hundreds of pieces of cutlery in those shoe boxes! I advised him how they had planned to use the multiplier function and how I was suppose to have done the job he was doing using the multiplier function that was canned. I felt so sorry for him. He managed to count them all and it probably took him hours - what a total waste of time yet again.

I was later told by the customer service manager that the multipler function was deactivated because someone used it on Monday and it was used incorrectly. Bullshit. If I used it I would have used it properly. I wasn't even asked to work on Monday. How can you stuff up the multiplier function you just open the fixture scan the item, count how many of the same items there are and type in the quantity then close the fixture. Easy I've done many stocktakes previous to this job and I've even set scanners up for stocktake as well as downloading/uploading reports. The multiplier function is always used.

So after an hour and a half of wondering around doing nothing and asking the customer service manager how long I was to keep unpacking the boxes in the hard reserve I decided to help myself to a scanner gun and signing one out which was a really good one.

I made my way back to the fixtures I started scanning on and tried to scan the 2nd fixture again. No , it was still coming up with the same error message a 3rd time on that sane fixture so I asked the electricals team leader what would happen if I scanned the next fixture and continued - and sure enough it worked so I advised the team leader to mark the fixture that would not scan so I could come back to it later. I was scanning very quickly now and finally caught up to where I should have been 2 hours ago!

I was advised quite a while later that afternoon to try and rescan the problematic fixture again for the 4th time and it now worked.

I had a lunch break which was a bit early so took half a lunch break taking the second half before I was about to finish my shift at 9 pm.

In between I was told to go down to the hard reserve where 4 fixtures had been missed and scanned them. I was given a map of where the missed fixtures were. Why did I need a map it was obvious where these fixtures were there was only one fixture that was unclear as there was a red dot against it already - had it been scanned already? no). Task complete. Back upstairs on the floor. Next fixtures to be scanned.

Onto Salt & Pepper, which I didn't get very far with I think I only got half a display of fixtures scanned before I was told to finish the other half of what team member "ticket girl" was scanning. She needed a break so I was told to continue and finish it. I was pestered so much to finish it. I was scanning quite fast and completed it. I think I was left with the larger portion of the display stand to scan count. It was the most award fixture to count as you could not get to all the items on the other side of the display and needed the Electricals leam leader to move it out so I could access them. The display stand was really tall and really heavy - so glad i got the bottom half to do and not the top half as I not have been able to reach any of the hanging top items. Scan counting this fixture really killed me and I ended up with veey strained leg muscles for the next 2 days with all the stretching and up and down movements.

My shift ended with the missed shelves of S & P glasseware and the other side of a S & P display  stand that another team member was having trouble with - yep I was having trouble with it as well but told not to worry about it as it was just 1 item out. The scanner was making funny beeping sounds and adding extra items onto it when a particular item was scanned. Clearance items also caused strange beeping sounds however still scanned correctly ( I randomly checked my scan counts to enure they were all scanning). Limits of items scanned per fixture had to be ideally between 60 and 80 although the scanner can take upto 99 items - maximum items I scanned for one fixture reached 92 at one point. Then there were all the items with no labels on them and all the items that had to be manually entered. All these little fiddly things should have been sorted out prior to scan count just like I sorted out the 2 lots of incorrectly labelled cutlery which were relabelled counted & bundled up before being put back down into the shoe boxes in the hard reserve - and Myer wonders why their stocktakes are always out!

Total waste of time. 2 - 3 weeks of preparation pre scan count certainly was not worth the effort.

Wednesday 10th February 2021

Day off NOT! My blog just crashed again. I can't even have a day off without the customer service manager texting me not once but twice changing my shift at the last minute from 9.30 am - 5.30 pm on the floor to 8 am - 4 pm stock only tomorrow. It means killing any remaining brain cells I have left , getting up and leaving home at 6 am and putting yet more strain on my body. I am looking for a new job,  any longer at Myer and my brain will be physically dead. I am so bored and the job has become a waste of my time. I am sure I have better use of my time and am planning to cutting my availability to work at Myer down to 3 days only probably Tues Wed & Thurs only.

Today I slept in - so tired from yesterday's 9 hour scan count at Myer.

One day off and so much to do.

Let's start off with breakfast - fruit salad, green juice, ( my blog crashed yet again) & a probiotic of some sort.

Eventhough I did not venture out today , I needed to contact the Salvation Army Employment Plus again so did so.

Catch up on my blog.

Catch up on YouTube.

Contact HSBC to confirm the id of one of their team members to ensure that they are from HSBC and not a scam before taking further action as they sounded like they were calling from a call centre.

Still have to wash dishes and was thinking of venturing out but I have to wake up early tomorrow to get to work.

I forgot about another new product I purchased recently and tried. Photo below

Yes Another limited edition flavoured Tim Tam White Chocolate Kensington Pride Mango Tim Tams. The ingredients does say it contains mango powder but maybe not Kensington Pride mango powder. For those that don't know , there are so many varieties of mangos in Australia - my favourite has always been the large  R2E2 mangos and I am not fond of the Calypso or Kensington Pride mangos as they tend to be smaller,  less fleshy and not as sweet. Mango season is ending soon so mango availability is getting smaller and less sweet.

So what did I think of the mango flavoured white chocolate Tim Tams? I don't like white chocolate fir a start and yes there is a mango flavour present however I get this artifical chemical aftertaste which is making my tongue astringent if that is the word to describe it. It's too sweet and not nice. Some people might love them but I prefer the original plain dark chocolate Tim Tams. I therefore am rating it a 6/10.

Prep for work tomorrow. Early evening.

Thursday 11th February 2021

Myer 9.30 am - 5.30 pm Amended to 8 am - 4 pm today Stock only not floor!

Well what do you know . I've been taken off the floor completely and put on stock. Which means I have to leave at 6.00 am every morning Thurs Fri & Sat now.

I'm not happy, it's my only day off and I'm interrupted by text messages from the customer service manager first changing my shift tomorrow then asking me to do stuff.  I find it so rude. She didn't like it when I texted her on her day off. This is my day off so I should not be thinking about work.

Fun and games at work. I deliberately slowed down today - just a little although I couldn't as I was constantly "being watched" by the customer service - whenever she saw me speaking to one of the other VM/stock team members she would interrupt us. We have to communicate with each other because we need to know where to restock/display items. I had a mixed cage full of items from different departments , some of which was at the bottom of the cage belonging to S & P , the rest general kitchenware therefore I had to ask the VM/stock team member who was solely working on S & P if she needed the items I had at the bottom of my cage or not for her revisual merchandising of the displays. The customer service manager comes over to me as I was looking at the remerchandising sheet (which I had already looked at on the mcomms) and asks me where I am and what I am doing and when I said on the other side, she asked me why my cage was so far away and not over nearer to where I was restocking - oh derrr, could she not see that it was a mixed cage and I was off loading anything I could to give to this VM team member before wheeling the majority of items in the cage over to the other side where I was restocking instead of trying to bring the S & P items back over which were heavier and of lesser quantity . Not very efficient of her. As soon as I off loaded my cage I went over to the other side of the store to the drink bottles, lunch boxes and coffee accessories were, to continue restocking.

I might hate management and the whole archaic way Myer operates including it's technology  but there is one good thing about working at Myer - yes I do have something good to say about working at Myer however it is not about Myer itself. It's how nice the people I work with are and the customers ( well at least 90 % of customers, there will always be the rotten 10 % ). Now that most of the team members know me they say hi to me when they see me. Some are closer to me then others.

Eventhough I am not part of the VM team but a "hybrid" I am probably closer to their team members then I am to the Homewares team.

For f*** sake- another text message from the customer service manager after work to check my m coms , I could not even get onto it as it was hanging  and i informed her of this - what is so important that I  had to check it?, I can't even get home without the custoner service manager hassling me whilst I was trying to enjoy my night celebrating Luna New Year @ Chatswood. Checked -  nothing important gee I got another 10 points towards my next Myer reward voucher - it will take me another 6 months before I get another $20 reward voucher. The rate i am going being put on stock and having most of my service shifts cut ir cancelled, it will take me another year to get enough reward points for another $20 Myer reward voucher. Nothing new, other team members are receiving the same amount of reward vouchers in the same amount of time. Totally useless and a waste of time. The Metric system isn't even correct. Why am I still on 88 % customer satisfaction score when I scored a 10/10 recently when you get a 7/10 your customer satisfaction score drops more then 10 % - does not make sense also no bonus points for signing up 1 Myer One membership per day for 3 days in a row. Nobody else was doing that and I wasn't even on the floor. Now management have porinted out a tally sheet so everyone has to record each Myer One membership they sign up.

Same shit as the previous day.

After work I was so tired I went shopping as it was Thursday late night shopping and purchased a prosciutto and rocket wood fired pizza for dinner and some groceries for tomorrow's lunch. Could not wait so ate the entire pizza whilst waiting for the bus home.

Friday 12th February 2021

Myer 8 am - 4 pm stock.

Just checked my shifts today again for the next 2 weeks and I've been taken off the floor completely and am doing stock most days of the week. The customer service manager thinks I'm slow at doing things sometimes but she thinks it because I am tired. Well she is not wrong there! Now that I am on stock most of the time not only am I getting physically slower, I am getting mentally slower too as I am not serving customers or using the register or dealing with complaints.  I don't get the time to recover my body as doing stock is physically demanding. I have noticed that getting up early and starting early also has not helped as I am constantly stressed about getting to work on time and not getting locked out of the staff entrance exit if I don't make the half hourly 5 minute door opening times. The stress is not from the job itself but the amount of time travelling to and from work. My health is suffering , my allergies have become noticeably and progressively more severe since my increase in stock duties over time ( I thought it was just the change in seasons it's now apparent it's not) to the point where I will have to reduce my hours and availability if I want to stop breaking out with severe dermatitis ( which is caused by not just allergens such as dust, dirt cardboard etc but stress). I told a few team members how I will be brain dead and have no brain cells left if I continue to do stock - it's a mindless job and NO I don't particularly enjoy it and I hate how team members assume and say " yes but you are good at it" I maybe good at it but that doesn't mean I like doing it. Some team members are even wondering why I'm not on the floor anymore as they never see me on the register and I'm always doing stock. One team member  who began as a casual but was offered a permanent part time position at Myer, in particular. actually told me how managers watch you for a year then decide if they will make you a permanent part timer - I am unsure if I actually want to become a permanent part timer a Myer if I was offered a position - team members says how the money is s***  ( it sure is and less then what I used to get paid and the benefits - what benefits? a measly 15 % Myer staff discount when I previously got 25% from my previous employer)  and I found out one Christmas casual was not asked back but has since gained a much better paying and conditions job at Chemist Warehouse with another team member who had been with Myer for 2 and a half years is resigning as she needed a change ( more like a new challenge) and another team member from VM who injured her hand at work and maybe "forced" into resigning as she failed her Myer injury assessment test ( yes we all know Myer has to be very cautious with avoiding workers compensations claims as any type of insurance claims are an issue for the company). It's only been a little over 6 months since I joined Myer and if not for COVID I would not be working at Myer. Myer is not my life , as one newer Christmas casual who recently signed a contract as an ongoing casual asked me if I intended to work for Myer for the rest of my life - my short response was "Absolutely not!"

Onto other things that happened today. I had a proper 1 hour long ( even slightly more) lunch today. I like to have a late lunch at 2 pm and finish at 4 pm. The only good thing about doing stock is you can have lunch whenever you like. So I told the other hybrid VM stock team member who was working on the Salt & Pepper display ( her second day as there was so much stock on the dock ) that I was going to restock one more cage then go for lunch. We were going to go to lunch together- in the rather awful staff lunch room ( it's better to eat alone in there off peak - yuk don't even think of what's been left in the communial staff fridge for several days and I dare not use the communial toaster or microwave) . This team member did not bring her lunch today so had to buy her lunch. We did end up having the last half of our lunch together. We were missing one other VM team members and it's not the same without him - Senor "Turbo Tax" . Yep the Spanish VM team member who was an extra in the recent Turbo Tax dance class commercial for the Superbowl. One of the other VM team members and I were telling the VM team member I was having lunch with today how she missed out on the talk that went with doing the commercial. The joke was " We thought you were the instructor" with his response being " I wish but I don't have his body" and all about the debate of how we couldn't even see his face with his response "Yes you can"  our " No you can't - it's all blurred out" and whether the word  "feature" he used was referring to the commercial or him (unclear with his English as a second language - difficult to understand) -  not a feature and if he was the feature of the commercial he would have been paid so much more. And the cost of the commercial itself etc. You can see him in the background of the commercial by what he was wearing but his face is cut off the screen. The conversation between the 3 of us ended with our comment to the team member I was having lunch with with a  " Oh so you missed the conversation with him telling you all about the commercial?" again adding "Do you think he wants to make modelling his career?" . I think he is the highlight of our day  and it certainly can get boring doing stock without him .( I think the all girl VM team love him although I am a little unsure which way he is inclined - such a gentleman if he sees me with empty cardboard boxes and he is going out to the dock then he will stop and ask if he can my boxes to the dock for me.)

After lunch the poor VM team member who I had lunch with (who by the way is a vegan) had an elderly lady (who didn't like me very much ) approach her and ask about a puff pastry crisper for the microwave so she didn't get a soggy bottom on her sausage rolls. Problem was she kept preaching to this VM team member about how to make them and what sausages she used from what butcher. The talk went on forever and I could see this team member wanting to just tell this customer but could not tell her that she was actually a vegan. I tried to rescue this team member but just could not get a word in. We just waited for the conversation to drop off. It took forever  for her to end the conversation on how to make sausage rolls - I tried to cut the conversation off by telling the elderly lady that I made a pie for lunch after she asked if we knew how to make sausage rolls.

The regional manager came for another visit. Who cares - he isn't the CEO of Myer and even if the CEO of Myer came ( not that he can at the moment as Melbourne is about to go into their 3rd lockdown) who cares. This is how bad Myer treats their team members. If you are on stock the day of any so called VIP visits ( it's made to sound like the royals are coming to visit when it's nowhere near it!) , you have to stop what you are doing and basically hide until they have left the building. No cages or restocking is allowed whilst they are walking the floor - all stock and displays on the floor have to be tidy but only the ones facing outwards of where he is walking down and directly seeing. Today I was restocking and the team leader hid my cage full of stock behind the quilts so the regional manager would not see it and she told another team member to make theirs less visible as well. Also absolutely no empty shelves. Put something anything on them so some idiot mixed Oxo products in with a Zylizz product on the top shelf of the Zylizz products shelves when Oxo has it's own set of  products shelves across from the Zylizz set of shelves. Why? There was plenty of other Zylizz products on the shelves below that could have been used. Makes no sense at all. That would be the first mistake you would see walking past.

One of the VM stock team members was working on a dominant Heritage dinnerware display which she did not have time to finish as she had to leave at 4 pm yesterday and it was new productd the guys found in a cage and told her about pretty late in the afternoon. It had to go out onto the floor. The display table had to look presentable in time for the visit as it was front and centre - a very visible new product range of blue and red on white mugs, plates, bowls and platters. There was only enough time for the VM team member to put 3 cushions on the front bench in front of the display and build the bare  basics of the display on the table. The cages i was restocking from, I discovered contained more then 2/3 of the remaining pieces of this Heritage range therefore I continued and completed the rest of the display. The only things i wasn't keen on were the 3 cushions which were probably the only ones available at the time , the leftover glass juice jar, circular silver tray and miscellaneous wine and champagne glasses loose and in boxes on the display table. On the back of this table there were cake stands which did not belong to this story  which were moved to the other heritage display table and filled up with excess stock that another vM team member added from her cage. Below is a photo of the almost complete display .

Postscript : The cushions were changed the following week on Monday after the VIP visit on Friday to 3 cushions with blues and white tones which matched much better. one of the VM team members had removed the above cushions and was about to bulk stack a whole load of excess bowls and place them on the front bench. I managed to stop her and explain how it would not look good and that there was a VIP visitor today therefore she replaced the cushions and stacked the excess stock neatly onto the display table  in stacks and behind it. Any real excess was put into the hard reserve. On Friday I asked the customer service manager what she thought of my display and on Monday I asked the senior VM team members what they thought of my display - although they liked it, the were completely unaware that I actually did it, they all thought the other VM/stock team member who spent the entire last 2 days merchandising the Salt & Pepper display did it. i actually had to tell them I did it and even took photos of it on my phone.

The VIP visit went well and there was a bit of brown nosing by the Homewares team leader  with the VIP visitor ie regional manaager. She write a long text message to the Whats app team group chat which i think was not really necessary.

4.00 pm time for me to go home - poor VM team member working on her second day of the Salt & Pepper display has to stay back by herself until 5.30 pm as she started later today.

Myer 8 am - 4 pm stock again!

The most brain dead job in the entire world. I am doing stock for the rest of this week and the following week and not on the floor at all except maybe a few hours. Thank goodness I am only rostered on stock not this week but the following week for 24 hours! Anymore and I would have killed all my brain cells that are left and believe me there are not many left! I really need to cut my hours and availability down and find another job fast as well as do more other activities such as finding other investments and spending more time on my YouTube channel and blog.

I was on my own doing stock today as the other team member from Electricals had to go on the floor all day to cover for the Electricals team leader who called in sick at the last minute ( the team member filling in for him thinks that he may not really be sick but can't get to work as it is raining and public transport is a problem when it rains as he lives really far away from Warringah).

So what did I do today well I took a really long lunch ( not really just a full hour as we are suppose to have) to make up for all the breaks I never got time to take ( well not really taking one full lunch break from 2.15 pm - 3.15 pm will never make up for the time I did not even get a break) and even ventured out for a full hour to purchase my lunch as I didn't have time to make it and go shopping for another cheap black skivvie to wear to work from H & M).

I restocked Kilner which I had to tell the customer service manager does not go into barware as it is for fermenting kombucha and pickling. She asked me where it was as she could not find where it had been put on the floor. It was in the kitchen gadgets area on the glass shelves where it should be and not in the barware area where she was looking.

I added pieces to the Australian House and Garden the best way  I could as there was so much of it on the dock marked excess when it was not. There are still pieces that have not been put out onto the display as it could not fit. Some pieces are so ugly I tried to hide them by putting them on the lower shelves. This display was stripped and redone by the customer service manager after I finished my shift today. She asked me who put the bakers under the cushions? I don't think it was me as i just tried to consolidate the overstocked canisters on the display table to fit more items on it.

The was a guy that came over to team member "ticket girl" who was wearing a headset (which she hates wearing) and I when we were approached by a man who didn't look very happy and who asked if she was the manager and if not if he could speak to one. He walked away when team member "ticket girl" said no. We did not find out why we just said to each other "What was that all about?" Later team member "ticket girl" asked another team member about wha t was going on with that customer and was told that he was complaining about how there was no one behind the Homewares counter and how there should always be someone behind it. I added that who knows he maybe a mystery shopper or shareholder. I asked the customer service manager whether any customers aporoached her nd she advised us nobody has ( as MV unpacked a new series of MV stick on a cage onto a display table re-attaching their labels as we went). Incident soon forgotten.

After serving some customers at 4 pm as there was a queue forming, I did not realise it was 4.10 pm already. I quickly punch out and grab my stuff and take the next 280 bus to Chatswood. I stop at Chatswood to get a mini baramundi spicy burrito for dinner as I am too exhausted to cook. No chimi sauce this time just some corriander instead. I forgot to present my loyalty card at Gomez - again! I have 128 points asnd only need 150 points for a free burrito which I would have easily reached with this purchase if i had remembered to get it scanned. Oh well. Not very helpful staff there could not even tell me how many points are earned for each purchase.

Could not wait to get home to eat it - so hungry I finished it at the bus stop. Home tv YouTube sleep (In) .

Sunday 14th February 2021

Day off . Happy Valentine's Day! Why not celebrate it at the same time as Happy Luna New Year! Especially today. People were dressed up in red and gold everywhere today - ah yes Roses are red, Violets are blue and so is Luna New Year too! A huge day for chocolates jewellery and flowers. There were long queues around the CBD at the Apple store, Dior & Louis Vitton stores and some jewellery stores. The chocolate stores closed early which made no sense as it is Valentine's Day today.

Time to catch up. I am so behind in my blog.

I did not do much today except bake a loaf of bread/cake - I don't know what to call it as I used self raising flour left over cider and left over plain yoghart with a bit of maple sugar and salt, mixed herbs turkey mince, fried shallots, chili flakes ground cumin and tumeric, fennel seeds, chopped onion and sesame oil - no eggs or cheese added. It turned out quite tasty like a savoury version of a banana bread. It will probably taste better once it cools down and the next day. I just ate the top crusty bit to taste it. I also baked a piece of salmon and ate some instant noodles. Most of my morning was cutting up a pineapple. I am sure I will be having these as part of my lunch at work tomorrow.

It's 3 pm and I'm venturing out. Originally I was going to travel out to Carriageworks to see No Show but am too tired to. Just as well as there is trackwork again on the North shore line and trains terminate at Wynyard therefore I decided to see the Luna New Year lanterns. There were 12 of them listed however after downloading the Cultural walks  Lantern Walk app, there are actually 14 lanterns listed between Circular Quay and Chinatown. ( and a few other independant Luna New Year Art Installations @ QVB, World Square & Darling Harbour along the way) I am getting off at Wynyard and starting the walk at Circular Quay. On the train now to Wynyard.

After walking down to Circular Quay it is around 4 pm and still light therefore none of the lantern installationd will be lit up yet but by 6 pm some of the lights on the lanterns began to light up.

I took quite a few photos. Below are photos of each of the 14 lanterns along the lantern walk. A few of these lanterns have been recycled from previous years ( refer my previous blogs)

There are also other Luna New Year activities run independently by Shopping Malls and Centres eg World Square's Lunapolooza , Darling Harbour's art installations ( photos below)  & QVB's giant inflatable Air Balloon ( photo below) which is actually open from the first floor up with slots to slide your hand written wishing notes or paper origarmi down into (has not been a very popular activity as the base of the clear inflatable balloon is barely filled) and people have been using it for their rubbish)

Just checked my shifts again for tomorrow and the the rest of the week and the following week. No surprise my only short shift on the floor serving customers on Wednesday 17th Febeuary has been changed from 10 am - 4 pm to 11 am - 4 pm. Why doesn't Myer just cancel it like they always cancel my shifts ( I won't be surprised if they do cancel it )- I'm already brain dead. I should just call in sick on any of the days I'm on stock.. Text message received on the whats app team group chat to advise that the customer service manager is off for 2 weeks - thank goodness!
