After my usual lyrical jazz class on Saturday from 1 pm to 2.30 pm, I went to 2 other events that day. The New Romance exhibition at the MCA and then to the BBR French Festival near by ( see other blog for full details of this event).
The New Romance exhibition was really out there. Some of which I did not fully understand.
The artifical igloo which I previously visited I did understand but the crystals coming out of organs, walls, cupboards, appliances I did not understand. I also did not understand the mutation of extra body parts.
I loved the colour panels that changed randomly.
I loved the use of robotics to simulate a crumpled newspaper, some disposible drinking cups with straws and a broken umbrella being tossed around in the wind
The creepiest thing was probably the robotic hand behind a large glass rectangular panel drawing infinite circles randomly - this exhibit was not working during my visit as the museum was waiting on a spare part from Korea.
I also loved the digital book shelf which was pretty self explanatory.
Below are photos of some of the New Romance exhibits. Enjoy!
