There is a free shuttle provided for the day between where I reside and the street fair so I hopped onto one of them - the only person on it until I encouraged an elderly Asian couple waiting at the next bus stop to hop on as well. They were headed for the train station as well and had told me that they had been waiting at the bus stop for a bus for ages. They were unaware of the bus stop closure and street fair. I hope they knew about the trackwork as well.
I spent some time looking around the street fair - it was huge and there were tens of thousands if people gathered at the street fair.
There were plenty of activities for families such as paint your own umbrella, large wooden and lego blocks to play with, face painting, painting, circus activities, free movies for kids at The Concourse where there is a giant outdoor screen ( Minions Movie and Dinosaurs Movie) , mini cupcake giveaways, temporary tattoo stickers, variety shows dancing and live music, clowns and of course all the giant mascot characters such as The Hoyts Popcorn mascot, The Salvation Army mascot, The Strike Bowling Pin mascot, The SES mascot , The Green Headspace mascot and a Boxing Bear mascot just to nsme a few. There were also clowns fairies and other wierd and wonderful dress up characters around the street fair.
Of course there was plenty for the adults to enjoy too - local information such as sustainability and walking tracks, buddha and Confusicous (oops spelling) food and drink stalls eg sugar cane juice, cip on a stick, German sausages etc, various nic nak stalls, information stalls as well as areas to sit and relax.
Unsure how I am going to get home - may wakt until the fair is over and streets reopened to traffic. (Photos attached)

Stay tuned for the next few weeks as I am off back to Melbourne next weekend for a few events and the following week it will be the Sydney Running Festival!
