Today I had a quick haircut @ Chatswood before heading to my regular dance class at Sydney Dance Company - which was Lyrical Jazz Beginners today.
What a workout as usual. After class I had a shower - after a sweaty workout and prickly haircut I needed it and then chatted to a fellow dance classmate.
I then walked back past the harbour foreshore to Circular Quay.
Arriving at First Fleet Park there was some sort of artwork set up where a spiral of earthenware hearts each with a message carved into them to represent the number of regugees in Australia on Manus and Naru. People were encouraged to walk around these spirals of wrapped hearts and open one. A stand at the other end of the park also had white squares of cloths and markers to encourage people to write messages of hope to regugees still in detention. These were tied with a red piece of cloth to a makeshift fence. I think these makeshift fences were meant to represent the fences around detention centres and refugees camps.
At around the same time there was also an Aboriginal protest that marched along Circular Quay.

Customs House
What's on at Customs House except for the banners outside promoting Sydney NYE 2016 and the large Christmas tree in the forecort where someone has placed a plastic pop top bottle of water on amongst the trees large stars and bobbles (blink and you will miss it as it blends in) - walk into the multi storey heritage building Customs House is and you will find a ceiling to floor rather large woven installation by US artist Meagan Geckler - "A Million Things That Make My Head Spin" . A photographer's dream from every angle. (photos attached).
