Managed to finish this online course 2 weeks ahead of schedule which is good as I am behind in my R course and start a few more courses towards the end of May.
It was an interesting discussion course however I didn't think it was very popular. It opened up a whole can of worms relating to the use and abuse of robotics.
Great references from everyone bringing back childhood memories - Kit from Knight Rider ( no mention of the Hoff), The 6 Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, Terminator, Robocop (that's Robocop the movie and not Robocoupe the food processor although it too could be a robotic aid), Dr Who and the Darleks "Exterminate Exterminate!" and even Bicentennial Man gets a mention (although I had a mental blank and couldn't remember if it was millemium or bicentennial man).
Asimov got an honorable mention many times as a reference in the course but the course again crossed over into other courses I had completed about problems a future society faces - aging population, population growth, food sources, healthcare, transport , employment, energy sources and housing etc and ideas of how these problems of the future might or can be solved.
Back to work tomorrow - I really needed that 3 day break after working 9 days with only 1 day off the past 2 weeks.
