Wednesday 17th May 2017 - Signs that VIVID Sydney is Fast Approaching again!

On my way home from work, I could see preparations around Chatswood are already on their way for the annual VIVID event.
All around Chatswood train and bus station, flashes of changing colour illuminations can be seen as day turns to night.

Numerous projection towers and special lighting can already be seen erected around The Concourse above the library.

However the most striking feature indicating VIVID is fast aproaching was the giant white and silver structure sitting on top of the now covered over water feature in the library's courtyard below which a passer by likened out loud as a giant "tampon". Yep I have to agree. Signage above it and VIVID logos were all visible.

Flags with VIVID on them swayed in the wind above Chatswood Mall.

Photos attached of the bumping in over the 2 weeks prior to the opening night of VIVID on 26th May at Chatswood and refer uploaded short videos on youtube of VIVID Chatswood 2017 first run testing Visuals Only No Sound Unedited at the Concourse.

Week 1 - Specs of coloured lighting at night start to appear around Chatswood Station. VIVID signage and Flags are clearly visible around Chatswood Station,  Mall and Concourse. Black projection towers are erected around Chatswood Concourse. No VIVID signage visible on these black projection towers yet in the early days. White "spaceship" structure in place in library's central water feature forecourt below - bottom of wishing well still black in early days. Black and white rectangular ball and light structure suspended high above Chatswood station unlit is visible. Later in week 2 black projection towers covered in VIVID signage and black botton of wishing well underneath white space ship is covered in white ready for projections. First still test projection of gridlike patterns seen on the main Concourse Building Facade and then onto white spaceship below in library's central forecourt.

Week 2 - Black and White rectangular ball and light structure at Chatswood Station lowered closer to ground level just above people traffic. Strange octopus sculpture installed outside Westfield's Hawkers Lane entrance on Victoria Ave across the road from The Concourse. Very first short colour test projections run on the main Concourse buildings facade with no sound and down onto the white spaceship in the library's central forecourt below. Soundless colour projections added to Silkari Building's Facade above. Interactive colour lights switched on causing pink and green shadows to appear as people walk along the Concourse.

2nd run testing on Concourse buildings facade included visuals and sound ( refer youtube video uploaded) however sound track and visuals may not be actual visuals on opening night of VIVID and nay only be testing visuals and sound.
