Thursday 25th May 2017 - VIVID Chatswood Final Dress Rehearsal Before Opening Night

How exciting - nearly all interactive displays for VIVID in Chatswood are up and running.

The main 2 projections at The Concourse now have visuals and sound as well as the "space ship" structure below the Concourse sitting on the water feature in the centre courtyard of the library giving out special effects such as syncronised sprays of water flashing coloured lights and smoke . A aintenance officer could be seen in gumboots and overalls with a head lamp wading in the water below performing last minute tweeking to the interior and exterior of the "space ship" structure. A little boy described how he looked a little like a minon if he was in yellow and how water and electricity are not a good combination.

The rest of the Concourse continues to be lit up with trees alternating in shades of pink green and blue with the projection of an animated helicopter on the Silkari Building facade visible in the background.

The large rectangular cube of balls and lights at Chatswood Station has been switched on and is emittinng a continuous sequence of multi coloured lights alternating between shades of yellow blue green and reds.

The strings of lights along Chatswood Mall have also been lit up for the first time.

The Octapus structure outside Westfield has not been switched on yet and the interactive light bounce display inside Chatswood Chase was still being worked on by a maintenance officer with a sign indicating it was closed and still a work in progress.

I have not ventured up to the district dining area above Chatswood Station although VIVID signs have now been installed indicating that there are more VIVID displays there.
