Sunday 22nd July 2018 - Shopping @ Macquarie Shopping Centre

I was intending to go to Winterland @ St Leonards Park today but could not be bothered.
It is the last day for both the Winter Magic & Winterland Events and the 2nd last day of school holidays but I decided to go to Macquarie Shopping Centre to feast on some culinary delights and go shopping instead.

A quick train ride to Macquarie Uni Station then a short walk to the shopping centre before trying out Nene Chicken - Korean fried chicken and their answer to KFC - well maybe not quite.

The menu has a variety of flavoured fried chicken pieces ranging from original to garlic snow cheesy 2 types of hot or spicy vegetable and bulgogi. Sounds like a Korean version of KFC so far. The menu extends to dessert of black sesame or green tea soft serve ice cream in a cone to your original or flavoured Korean fried chicken served with black rice or a salad or causlaw with sides including hot potato or sweet potato chips. Burgers include original or kimchi. And then there is what I had kimchi wrap also available in original - sound like a KFC twister original or spicy right? Yes there was lettuce and cucumber instead of tomato in the kimchi wrap I had and the chicken was in chunky pieces which was not bad but at $10 a wrap on its own it was a little flawed - cucumber was soggy there was a very large pool of juice from the sauce that leaked out the bottom of the wrap therefore ensure you byo wet wipes with you as the serviette they provide you with is inadequate and don't wear your good clothes and the kimchi was spicy but did not taste anything like traditional Korean kimchi which may mean it has been adapted to Western tastes and therefore extremely sweet. Rating 7/10. Not bad but not as good as some other Asian style fried chicken I have had.

Came in a simple unbranded brown paper bag with  sticker on it to seal it. Inside a typical wrap wrapped in a paper wraper with happy choice on it and sealed with another Nene chicken sticker the size of a round stamp or coin.
