Sunday 8th May 2016 - Mother's Day & Lyrical Jazz Dance Class

Because I worked all day on Saturday I missed my usual Saturday Lyrical Jazz Beginners class between 1 pm - 2.30 pm therefore I made up for missing it by going to a Lyrical Jazz Beginner class from 11.30 am - 1 pm on Sunday which is also Mother's Day.

Today I met French girl visiting Sydney as a tourist who wanted to do something different so she went to a Beginner Contemporary dance class. She was lost outside the Sydney Dance Company building and asked me for directions to the dance class. We talked and watched a Contemporary Dance class before our classes began. The class didn't look too difficult although it was an elementary level class and seemed more Lyrical then Contemporary in style. The French girl writes my email address down in her note book to exchange French/English language.

The Lyrical Jazz class I went to was quite brutal. A little above a beginner level class I thought . It was more of a workout then anything. The warm up was a full half an hour long but there was no across the floor work. There was a short adagio excercise and basic turns. Yay for me!

The choreography itself was quite lengthy and complex with one sequence of the routine having 1 turn followed by 2 spins followed by an air jump followed by another turn back in the opposite direction. There was also a lot of floor work .
I was also unfamilar with the piece of music that accompanied the choreography - James Bay "Scars" . I at least did feel the music in this class.

After class I briefly caught up with the French girl then off to the Eastern suburbs to do a list of errands I have.

When I arrived home I take my black tights off and my right leg is covered in bruises - how could this happen I wondered as I was wearing knee pads?

My body did ache the next day.

Rating 7/10 - for not having any perve factor either.
