Saturday 29th October 2016 - Ross Manning exhibition @ Carriageworks

I am on my way to Carriageworks to see one of Ross Mannings exhibitions - hope it will not disappoint as I have been waiting a while to see it. This exhibition just opened about a week ago and is on until 6th Nov 2016. I am a little confused as to what it is actually called - It mentioned "Melody Lines" but it may have been under another title. Refer Carriageworks What's On website for exact details.

Stay tuned......

CARRIAGEWORKS FARMERS/ORGANIC MARKET
Every Saturday between 8 am and 1 pm there is the Farmers Market in the undercover shed area across from the Carriageworks Building.  At this market you can buy most of your fresh groceries ranging from free range eggs, unwaxed apples from Batlow , a variety of local freshly baked loaves of bread mostly unsliced from Bread & Butter, Sonoma and a few other artesian bakeries, blocks of hard and soft cheeses, rounds of Pepes butter, regional bottles of wine, a variety of fresh organic vegetables and fruit such as punnets of strawberries, biodynamic lamb , beef, pork and free range game and poultry, fresh and potted herbs, bunches of freshly cut flowers, pot plants, sustainably caught local seafood, jars of gourmet cutneys and sauces, woven bags, large bags of a variety of mushrooms, freshly made pasta and sauces some produced on site at the markets , even bush tonics and corials with no added nasties by Milla from Molong Orange. You must not forget the vaiety of cakes, biscuits and chocolates and the many varieties of coffee available. Tables and chairs are set up at the far end of the shed and there is a good toliet block on site. There is aldo plenty to eat with baked goods stalls and even a pho stall! How I love a good hot bowl of pho. There is even a cooking demo stage at the far end of the shed.
If you are visiting Sydney it is a place to visit. Nearest train station is Redfern with about a 15 min walk to Carriageworks via Lawson and Abercrombie St. Rating 9/10 one of my favourite Farmers/Organic Markets around Sydney to visit. (Photos attached)

LIVEWORKS 2016 FESTIVAL OF EXPERIMENTAL ART
It is difficult to decribe some live artworks with photos therefore I made a short video of Ross Mannings "Melody Lines" . Again due to size restrictions on blogger I am unable to upload it here.

I was told that this piece of artwork is seen in a totally different way at night when it is dark and lit up. Maybe I will come back on another day to see it at night. (Photo attached)

This piece of artwork reminds me of an automated dry cleaning conveyor belt or a roller coaster with coloured strips dangling from it. Interesting but Im sure it's much better at night. Rating 8/10

I did revisit Liveworks again on Saturday 5th November 2016 but this time at night. I revisited the Ross Manning "Melody Lines" display and also stayed for his live 8 pm sound performance. A very different perspective from day to night. Enjoyed by everyone present.
